4 Hill Top Fold Cottage description

Holiday home
4 Hill Top Fold is a stone-built terraced cottage, converted from a former 17th century farmhouse, located in the heart of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage sleeps three people in one family bedroom, which has a double and single bed and an en-suite bath, basin and WC. On the ground floor is a spacious open plan living area with kitchen, sitting area, a dining area and woodburning stove, with a staircase leading up to the first floor bedroom. Outside is a front garden with furniture. With charming Grassington to discover and lovely scenic walks to be enjoyed nearby, 4 Hill Top Fold is a great base for a cottage holiday in the Dales.

Grassington is a lovely village in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, on the River Wharfe, home to traditional stone cottages and a cobbled market place. Down dale is Bolton Abbey and up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden with wonderful limestone scenery. Enjoy great walking and explore Brontë Country and York, within easy driving distance.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

This cottage was just perfect for our needs. Its location was excellent; being near to many eating places and the local shop. The log burner was very efficient and easy to use and the furniture was comfortable and homely. The cottage was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Many walks from the doorstep and useful walking guides available in the cottage. Excellent. Would happily return.

We enjoyed the comfortable, cosy cottage in a peaceful, scenic location. The local shops, pubs and cafes were very good. We were able to enjoy several lovely walks from the door without having to take the car. We would definitely stay again.

Stunning Scenery, a quirky quiet warm cottage and friendly people. It was pretty perfect for us and we're fussy!

We just liked the whole atmosphere of the cottage, obviously converted lovingly and imaginatively. The kitchen alcove was a tiny bit small, but it was difficult to see how it could have been any larger, given the layout of the cottage. All the equipment in it was fine though, and we had no difficulty cooking proper meals!

A well situated cottage on the edge of the village close to shops etc, very comfortable and nicely kept. Grassington is a lovely centre for exploring the surrounding area and very friendly people.

The cottage was perfect and so was the location.

June 2014
A delightful cottage with everything that one could want. The wood burning stove was a great bonus in a rather wet week, and we were extremely comfortable. The garden was charming and we were only sorry that the poor weather meant we could only sit in it on one occasion. The cottage gives privacy and peace and quiet, yet shops and local amenities are all nearby. We really appreciated the wonderful walks from the cottage, the wild flowers and the wonderful birdsong.

Lovely cosy cottage with delightful garden in a peaceful part of Grassington village, with views over the village and surrounding hills. Easy access to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and wonderful walks from the doorstep. The village is very pretty, and the locals could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Beautiful garden and lovely views of it from the downstairs window. Even though the property is in a terrace the garden was private and had nice garden furniture. Was very quiet yet only a minute's walk from the village centre which was great. Also enjoyed some lovely walks through the surrounding countryside from the doorstep.

Lovely cottage, well presented and in great location. Log burning stove was lovely and worked well. Key collection was easy despite arriving in the rain and dark! Lovely to find tea and milk ready.

Overall we had a great time in Yorkshire despite the weather being wet. Certainly a lot to do up there. We were lucky to be in Grassington during their festival weeks - really good for tourists.

We enjoyed everything. A beautiful, cosy little cottage close enough to all amenities. Walking in the snow and returning to a log burning fire and a glass of wine: heavenly. So relaxing, we look forward to visiting the cottage again, sooner rather than later. Many thanks.

4 Hilltop Fold, Grassington is a delightful cottage and full of character. It's lovely and and quiet, although close to the village centre. It is very comfortable; the kitchen is well equipped, and milk, tea-bags and biscuits were provided for guests' arrival. It's an ideal place to relax and the wood-burning stove makes it cosy and warm.
January 2014
Really lovely accommodation very comfortable and well equipped. The log burner so great for feeling at home and cosy. The village has several pubs we found the foresters arms really friendly and accommodating to the point when my brother and sister I law needed a taxi the landlord provided his wife and what's more did not expect payment. Really fab place to go we have looked at property prices but sadly can't afford it what a place to live.
December 2013
This is a cosy cottage for 2 tucked away in a pretty and quiet spot at the top of delightful Grassington village, with a peaceful little garden at the front of the property. An ideal spot for a walking break in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, with many walks possible from the door. Highly recommended, just as described on the website. Do bring a torch to access the key storage if you are arriving after dark. 5 minutes walk to all the amenities of the village. Loved walking out in the morning and looking at the surrounding dales - all visible from the garden. Likewise, a great spot for an early evening drink.

It is in a lovely quiet location, close to shops and restaurants. It was a comfortable, cosy cottage in which we felt very at home.
October 2013
What a great find. Spotlessly clean and inviting with a lovely front garden to watch the sun rise and set over the dales. Every need catered for from the small but well equipped kitchen to fluffy towels, comfortable bed and fuel for the log burner. The welcome provisions of a selection of teas, coffees, milk and home made marmalade was a nice surprise and gratefully received (thank you). The position of the cottage is very convenient with the cobbled square (where you can enjoy a good selection of inns and eateries) only a two minute away. Hope to return in the near future.
September 2012
