This Lodge was exceptional and felt like a home from home. In a beautiful location, and the collection of books, magazines and DVDs made it an ideal get away.

What a beautiful place! This was the first time that we have booked a lodge to stay in and we absolutely loved it! It was in a fantastic position right next to the river, with incredibly thoughtful owners who have catered for your every need. There is absolutely everything you could possibly need and more besides! Highly recommended. Simply prefect!

Alder Lodge was in a beautiful position on site - enjoyed watching the wildlife from the lounge, there were squirrels, ducks, geese and heron. It was our first time in Shropshire, lovely countryside and was very close to towns and walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Alder Lodge was incredibly well appointed. It was very peaceful with plenty of space between properties. The verandah is spacious and the furnishings were of a high standard. All in all this is probably the best value lodge we have stayed at.

Very comfortable and cosy for a winter break. Extremely well equipped, including necessary washing and cleaning materials, and we particularly liked the welcome pack and special touches for Christmas. Great location with lots of walks all around, and the best spot on site with the river on three sides - very quiet and great for bird spotting.

Alder Lodge is outstanding and in my opinion is 5 * plus. The location is fantastic, right next to the river, a beautiful, quiet setting with lots of wildlife - I was lucky to see the kingfisher! The lodge has everything you need and more. The layout has been thoughtfully done and the cake that greets you on arrival was a really well received treat. I would highly recommend this as a fantastic place to stay. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The lodge was a home from home, so easy to move in to and every wish catered for. We were quite happy to sit on the veranda and watch the wildlife that was plentiful in the area. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace and quite. Very friendly village pub, most welcoming and good food. Easy access to places of interest. Would highly recommend it.

The holiday could not have been better. The Lodge was spotless and very well equipped in one of the best settings next to the river. The information folders on things to do and even the instruction books for all of the equipment in the Lodge, what a good idea. I would return again and would recommend as a five star place for a holiday. The area is full of things to do. The thought that went into giving the Lodge a peaceful and relaxing place to stay was fantastic.

Loved the peace and quiet and being able to stand on the deck to watch and listen to the river behind the lodge. Amazing week, just what we both wanted and no one disturbed us. The lodge had everything we could need.

My Mum, daughter and I had a fabulous time, thanks to your good advice and care. We found the lodge to be perfect in every way. There is nothing we would change. We loved watching the kingfisher, which had a favourite perch on the other side of the little stream running alongside the lodge. We also enjoyed seeing the ducks and all the wild birds. We will take a bird book with us next time, as there were some we did not recognise.

Alder Lodge was extremely comfortable and clean and the finishing touches made it feel very homely. The location of the lodge was perfect; the river running around three sides and the ducks waddling up to see us made it idyllic. We really did not want to leave and will be returning.
