Holiday home
This charming wing of the owner's home is situated on the rural outskirts of Abbeydorney, just six miles from the town of Tralee. With countryside views, this property offers open-plan living accommodation and one double bedroom, making it a wonderful romantic getaway. There is also shared access to the owner's large garden – an excellent spot for relaxing in the sun – and the local shops and pubs of the village are within easy walking distance. The town of Tralee is also close by and provides everything a visitor could need for a relaxing yet entertaining stay.

Offering local shops and pubs as well as an old forge dating back many centuries, the village of Abbeydorney is situated to the north of County Kerry. Kyrie Eleison Abbey is situated on the outskirts of the settlement and dates back to the 12th Century, whilst the surrounding area is home to the impressive Ballymacaquim Castle at Killahan and the Museum and Heritage Centre at Kilflynn. The region also offers good walking and cycling opportunities as well as a range of other attractions, including the lively town of Tralee and Banna beach. Tralee itself offers a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants, whilst the beach provides fantastic water sports and swimming opportunities.

County Kerry is a mystical and unspoilt part of Ireland, with spectacular natural beauty and a fascinating history. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, it features many sandy beaches, rocky inlets and stunning peninsulas.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and the owners were very welcoming. The location was ideal for touring around the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. The cottage was just the right size for two and very easy to use.

Our accommodation was just what we needed with friendly hosts who made sure all our needs were met. Lovely tours, walks, food, music wherever we went and always glad to get back to base. Went to Kerry to visit Dingle for first time and 'do' the Ring of Kerry but although these were spectacular, we enjoyed getting to know North Kerry especially the Banna strand, Ballyhaigue, Ballybunion areas, not to speak of the Kerry Head drive - all along the Wild Atlantic Way.

We had a wonderful week, a very friendly welcome and everything we needed in the cottage. It was warm comfortable and exactly what it said when advertised.

More out of the way than we'd expected, so not possible to drink alcohol when due to driving. Also we had to do a lot of driving to get to where we wanted to be every day. Accommodation not quite as good as we'd hoped - crockery etc. Owners very nice though and we loved the cows in the adjoining field.

we needed to empty a relation's house about 8 miles away and so the location for us was good - excellent place for a couple only
July 2010
The one problem we had was with the shower - my husband was unable to access it due to the narrow fitting of the door.
