This property is fantastic. The location is excellent. The family that owns the farm are truly lovely and we had a magical time there. Thank you for our wonderful stay and to the owners for allowing our twins to meet all of your animals. What kind and lovely people you all are. One day we will be back!

Far exceeded our expectations. Everything was equipped to a high standard and tastefully decorated. Roll top bath was good after some long walks during the time we were there. The walk- in shower in the bathroom was exceptional. The location was in easy walking distance to Pooley Bridge, which was about 10 minutes.

The cottage was beautiful and surpassed our expectations, the pictures certainly do not do it justice. We had everything we needed for our two young children and more. We would definitely stay at Barn End again and would recommend it to friends and family.

A perfect home from home in the countryside. The standard of everything from cleanliness to facilities was excellent. The location is also perfect, close enough to the town for a little stroll yet far enough to feel like your own private little haven!

Fab little cottage on a little working farm, plenty of parking and it was like being in a home away from home. The cottage was very warm and cosy and having the wood-burner was even more of a luxury ,didn't use it much as the heating was amazing!

Barn End is set on a farm in a beautiful location. The accommodation was very clean furnished to a very high standard. The bath in the bedroom was great to relax in after days out. The wood burner in the living room was great fun although it is not necessary to use it unless you want to as there is no shortage of heat in the cottage. It was very nice to be able to walk to Pooley Bridge approx five minutes stroll along the river. All in all a lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

An excellent property, having everything necessary for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. A brilliant location just 0.7 miles from Pooley Bridge - a lovely walk to the the Sun Inn by the river- well positioned for varied walks along the lakeside and up on the fells as well as bike rides and also the steamer on the lake.

December 2013
Perfectly equipped property, modern but with character. Very warm and constant hot water. Loved the roll top bath in the bedroom, and the generous sized kitchen that was all open planned and so you were always a part of what was going in with the family, very important over Christmas. The unexpected Christmas tree and decorations made it extra special. A great place to walk from with wonderful views.
Mr English

April 2013
The barn is lovely and very modern but still has lots of character and charm. It had everything you could need for a relaxing stay.
September 2016
Fabulous barn conversion, tastefully decorated and incredibly clean. There is so much attention to detail in everything provided for a home from home stay. Everything comfy. Roll top bath a real treat at the end of a day walking. Amazing walk in shower/wet room too.The farm is very tranquil and peaceful, the setting is picture perfect. Owners discreetly around and very friendly. It is a beautiful 10 min (along the river) walk into the heart of Pooley Bridge, which is a most delightful village. Good selection of places to eat & drink, catch the steamer to either sail around Ullswater or stop off at Glenridding or Howtown. Walking from door if you don't want to take car out. Keswick only about 20 mins by car. The only negative is not really any private garden. However this would not stop us returning this is simply one of the best holiday lets we have stayed in, there is a bench directly outside which catches the sun so nice to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine and there is a small area where a table & 2 chairs are provided. This is luxury accommodation and we felt very lucky to have found this gem. Definitely recommend this & definitely hope to return.
October 2015
Surpassed our expectations. What a lovely place! Everything we needed in spacious accommodation and tastefully decorated to a high standard. Roll top bath in the main bedroom was a nice touch and was most welcome after our long walks. The bathroom with the walk-in shower was great. Thanks for a great week's break . We will definitely return.
December 2014
This is the 2nd year we have returned to Barn End and again we had the most wonderful holiday. The cottage is very much a home from home with everything you would need, beautifully decorated with tradiational features. Being on a farm it was great for our twins as they just love animals! And with a little park directly out your door they were in their element! You can enjoy a lovely short walk though the fields to Pooly Bridge and the tip of Ullswater. There is spectacular scenery wherever you look here and we cannot wait to visit again next year
October 2013
A very high standard of accommodation in a lovely spot would highly recommend this to anyone!
January 2014
Very good accommodation, everything you need for your stay is there, apart from food. Owners very helpful, but do not intrude. No problem getting there and a place to park. Pooley Bridge is a 10 minute walk beside a river over a field. Three good pubs in village, good location for touring Lake District. See trip advisor.
August 2013
The cottage was really lovely. The kitchen was wonderful with everything you would wish for. The roll top bath was wonderful. The barn is on a working farm but this didn't affect the holidayin any way. The owners were very nice and friendly. There was also a staic caravan site belonging to the farm, which was beautifully kept. Pooley Bridge was in walking distance as was the lake and the steamers. All in all a lovely place with plenty to do.
Mrs Dickinson
June 2016
