Blairmount Coach House Cottage description

Holiday home
This property is only a short walk from the centre of Blairgowrie and has been renovated to a high standard. There is a bright, modern well-equipped kitchen, utility room and a ground floor bathroom, and the sitting room has a cosy feel with an electric coal effect fire. The two bedrooms are comfortable and tranquil, and outside there is a lawn and patio area with garden furniture. The centre of Blairgowrie is only a five minute walk away and for a wider range of shops and other amenities, Dundee is 19 miles away and Perth is 16 miles. This property offers a wonderful base from which to discover the rich heritage this area has to offer.

Situated on the banks of the River Ericht, the red stone town of Blairgowrie makes a fabulous base for exploring the beautiful county of Perth and the lovely Angus Glens. The town is overlooked by hills and mountains, making this region superb walking, riding and cycling country. Golfers are very well catered for with many courses in the area including Rosemount and St Andrews and Gleneagles all within easy reach. Glamis Castle has a long history, and is said to be the most haunted castle in Scotland as well as the setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth. The Beech hedge at Meikleour was planted in 1745 and is the highest in the world. With so much on offer, this is a great year round holiday destination for the whole family.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Mrs Wallace
January 2016
Excellent village to visit, great for walking, hill mountaineering, ski-ing and some lazy days sightseeing. The house is close to the village centre but not too close for any road noise. It was fabulous for night sky watching too as house is high on a hill just above the village. The house itself is just wonderful; its exactly what you see on the internet photographs, everything you need is there, its so comfortable and honestly, we have never seen anywhere so well looked after, its as though you're the first person to book here. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and guarantee that you will not be disappointed. The owners were so helpful to us too, not only about the cottage, but our car would not start at the end of our stay, my thinking is that it just didn't want to return home, like us! They very kindly offered us help and let us overstay our time at the cottage until the rescue services arrived and we were fully repaired to return home, a big thank you being sent now. Already hoping to return again soon.
Mr Williams
May 2015

The owners were very pleasant and helpful and the property was very comfortable. It is conveniently situated for visiting many local places of interest, all within a short journey. We also did a few of the local walks and saw several deer on more than one occasion. There were a few very good restaurants, with one of them becoming our favourite by the end of the week! A very enjoyable break, even for the last week of October. We hope to return.
Mr Stokoe
July 2014
The holiday fulfilled all our expectations both in terms of what we did on a day to day basis but also when returning to the Coach House at the end of each interesting day. Blairgowrie proves to be an excellent centre if you are interested in Scottish history as there are a wealth of properties within easy daily travelling distance without a need to keep covering the same ground over and over again. The Coach House is consistently rated very highly and without any exception we must join in with the range of superlative descriptions that are regularly applied. The owners certainly demonstrate a pride in providing this holiday let and this clearly shows through in the high level of presentation, amenities and absolute cleanliness.
Mrs Dobbin

Our second stay in this beautiful cottage and it was every bit as good as we expected it to be. Everything we could possibly need, clean, warm, cosy, and plenty of space too. We simply didn't want to leave and know we will be back again soon. If you require a lovely relaxing base, peaceful but close to the town's facilities, this is the place to be.

September 2014
This is a very comfortable cottage in a convenient location. We were made very welcome by the hosts. Everything you need is in the cottage. The hill is very steep to get back up so beware, but worth the climb. Local amenities are very close and a good selection. Lots of places to eat out and drink. Supermarkets close if you prefer to eat in.
August 2013
excellent accommodation, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Lovely location, with plenty enjoyable walks locally, and further afield. The owners of coach house were very friendly and helpful and living next door, were on hand if we needed anything (which we never did). The one negative was the fact the accommodation was at the top of a very steep hill, and although we new before hand about that fact we were not quite prepared for the severity of the hill, and had to use our car more than we would have normally'
April 2012
Sykes is a first class rental agency. Friendly, efficient staff who were very helpful in assisting us in our choice of holiday accommodation. Blairmount Coach House is a superb property - a real home from home. Clean, comfortable, warm, well equipped and spacious. It sits at the top of the hill in Blairgowrie with just a 5 minute walk down into the beautiful town centre with its abundance of local shops and the obligatory supermarket! The walk back up the hill can be challenging and take a little longer than 5 minutes, but the exercise does you good! The owners of this property are really friendly and welcoming and there if you need them. I have absolutely nothing to dislike about this property - it's just perfect!
Maretta M
October 2013
Had a wonderful week in the coach house, it is immaculate & very well maintained. We were there with a two year old & a seven year old who both loved the house and were sad to leave! Only a few minutes from the town. Owners were extremely helpful.
September 2012
What a lovely clean, tidy property this is, with a lovely friendly couple - Anne & Sandy - next door who look after the property as well as any requirements you may have. The cottage is a short walk from the centre of Blairgowrie, although the walk back up the hill can be a bit challenging if you are as unfit as we are, and within easy striking distance from anything of interest, of which there are many, in the central Scotland area. We spent a week at the cottage at the begining of August and loved every minute, despite the weather (Thank God for the Olympics). if we return to Scotland for a short stay or a holiday we will certainly consider booking this property again. Would highly recommend this property to anybody wishing to stay in the Blairgowrie area.
May 2013
this cottage is just amazin i would not hasitate to book up and stay here again very friendly owners well presented property,i could not wished for a better place to stay.
Jim Swann
January 2012
. Owners very welcoming and hospitable . The Coach House has everything anybody would need during their stay, very well heatedcomfortable and furnished to good standards . Located just up the hill from town centre. The centre has very good amenities e.g local shops, bars and resturants, supermarket .The Coach House is very well situated to explore this pocket of Scotland
December 2011
This was a fantastic cottage not only in its standard of cleanliness but for friendliness of the owners who made us very welcome. This is the sort of cottage that makes holidays special. We want to go back again next year!
September 2011
On arrival the owners met us with a warm and friendly greeting and gave us a quick guide round the property pointing out where everthing could be found along with a chat about the area and its amenities which was thoughtfull of them. The property itself was first class, spotless, spacious, warm and with everything you could need for your stay. The owners have taken great care to ensure this. There is ample private parking and the surroundings are quiet. Five minutes walk and you are in the centre of Blairgowrie which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants serving good food and ale. For walkers there are lots of walks straight from the house so no need for the car. Try the river walks, you can see salmon jumping. The area abounds with history, with lots of castles and places of interest just a short drive away. We loved the whole area, the friendly locals and the property just capped it all. We had a wonderfull holiday and would highly recommend this property, its just nice to know that after a day out you are returning to such a pleasant house.
The Park Family
October 2011
Very good accommmodation and a good base for touring an area with much to offer holidaymakers of all ages.
February 2010
Home owners are really nice and helpful people. House in excellent condition. Town has a lot of restaraunts and take-aways. Tesko also in walking distance. Only one problem - roads. After snowfalls all roads were not in good condition and sometimes our average speed was 30-40 km/h...
December 2009
Very welcoming owners who had ensured that the cottage was very well equiped and warm. The property had been recently converted so everything in the cottage was very clean and up to date. The location was good although a car was needed. Plenty of restaurants in the area - especially the Bistro.
