The delightful market town of Hawes is the highest settlement in Wensleydale and home to the delicious Wensleydale cheese. The town is also famous for rope making; a skill passed down through the generations and a fascination for many of the visitors that come to the town. A regular market is held on a Tuesday and Hawes has many excellent shops and eateries in its midst. The beautiful limestone countryside surrounding the town provides a huge variety of walks and other outdoor pursuits, and for sightseeing opportunities the area is unsurpassed with the spectacular Hardraw Force and theAysgarth falls just two of the natural wonders to be seen. Hawes is a delightful town and makes a superb base for a holiday in this magnificent area.

We loved everything, the cottage was lovely and in the right place for us. Everything in the cottage was fantastic and the owner was nice but didn't intrude. Will be booking it again.

A home from home - Blythe Cottage is beautifully presented, nicely decorated and very clean. The cottage is in a great location, very convenient for the town of Hawes and exploring the Dales. The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful, we had a wonderful and very comfortable stay.

Blythe Cottage was beautiful, we couldn't fault it at all. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We would recommend Hawes and Blythe Cottage as a great base for visiting the Dales. As a Yorkshire lass living far from home, it was fantastic to be back even for a short time. We will return!

Lovely property, traditionally furnished but had everything we needed. Friendly, helpful and hospitable owner next door but not intrusive. Perfectly situated in Hawes at the edge of the town which minimised street noise but within 2-10 minutes walk of all amenities. The separate, and equally cosy, sitting room in the attic was commandeered by X-box playing husband (bottle of single malt in hand) leaving Mum and myself to wallow in the Christmas soaps and specials. Small kitchen but managed to cook a sumptuous Christmas dinner with a little planning that was ready altogether and hot. 10 out of 10 for me

This was a delightfully appointed cosy cottage pretty much in the centre of the farming community of Hawes .Set over three floors it held an old world charm with tasteful furniture to suite. A good variety of pubs and shops to visit, with wonderful water falls and walks close by.
