The cottage was very cosy, well decorated and well equipped. An ideal base to explore the surrounding area. I would definitely book the cottage again.

Absolutely outstanding. A fantastic cottage which was incredibly well equipped, exceptionally clean, warm and cosy. It lacked nothing. There was so much to see and do in the area, a week is hardly long enough. One of our best holidays in the UK ever!

Brackenlea cottage is just wonderful! The cottage itself is well presented and the owner Sean was very helpful before and during our booking. The kitchen had everything needed for a short stay, the beds were comfy and the living room was cosy with the fan heater fireplace. The large selection of books and DVDs were a bonus as were the welcome crisps and biscuits after a drive from London. The village is very small (the nearest shop is about 8 miles away) so come prepared for your stay where possible. The local pub opens in the evenings only, we popped in for a drink but no food is served here. The walk to Drakes Stone was a nice way to pass an hour or two and the views are lovely. We would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely visit again (maybe during summer when the rain will not lessen the chances of star gazing so much).

Brackenlea cottage is cosy, comfortable and well appointed. The village of Harbottle is beautiful and peaceful. Two doors up there is a delightful pub/papershop/information centre that also sells local homemade jams. There are good pub restaurants no more than 10 minutes drive away and the view from Harbottle Crag is beautiful. We spent a lot of time walking and sitting by the River Coquette in nearby Coquettedale. Our retriever also enjoyed swimming there. The coast is between 30 and 45 minutes away, but the scenery throughout is breathtaking. We will stay again soon.

A very tasteful conversion of this end of terrace property in a lovely quiet village handy for many Northumberland attractions and walks. Warm, cosy and refurbished to a high standard and perhaps one of the best self catering accommodations we have used.

We were very pleased with the cleanliness of this cottage. There was everything we needed for our family, including lots of dvds and games. The cottage has wifi which was great. There was plenty of leaflets and local information about the surrounding area and there are lovely walks direct from the door. We would definitely recommend.

What an amazing cottage. The location is wonderful, peaceful and tranquil. The cottage itself has been renovated & decorated to the highest standard, it is stunning throughout. Every little thing has been thought of, with no details left out. There are games galore, lots of DVDS to watch and plenty of useful information about local places of interest. I would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone who appreciates luxury in a beautiful, quiet village.

One of the best holidays ever. Loved it here. Perfect. Everything you need, cosy accommodation, peace, quiet, nature, walks, history. We were here in October when the leaves were changing but any time of the year this place would be magical. Cottage well stocked with info brochures and lovely books too for an evening's browsing of what to do the next day! Thanks so much for a perfect stay :)
