This is a very comfortable and well equipped Cottage. An excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas. The hot tub was a very welcome feature, after a long day walking! It was nice to find such a lovely Cottage that was dog friendly with a secure garden too.

We had a lovely stay at bronte cottage, fire and hot tub, were a welcome sight on a cold and rainy evening , we loved the old atmosphere, with beams, and uneven floors and walls, Mrs besant was very informative and nothing was too much trouble, there was even a bottle of wine in the fridge, and some little cakes, the cottage was not the cleanest but that just added too the charm, bed was comfy and clean, and towels were provided on a heated towel rail, the best part of our 4 nights was the cottage, as too be honest visited Lydney, coleford, and cinderford, in the heart of the Forest of Dean, and they were not the nicest of places, didn't stay long, Gloucester docks, were good though, lots of shopping and lovely restaurants and bars, overall would recommend the cottage :-)

Loved it all. Great location and a fabulous cottage, a perfect retreat. The owner was very helpful and a pleasure to meet. It was our second visit to this delightful cottage and it most definitely won't be the last, it was just as good the second time round if not better.

Lovely cottage, had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay. Ideal base to visit the local area, take in the views and enjoy this lovely part of the country. The cottage has a hot tub which was very welcome after a long day of walking, all the family enjoyed the pool/air hockey table of an evening. The local pub ( next door) serves wonderful Indian food which I highly recommend. Lea has a local shop, petrol station and lovely walks...perfect for a break away from a busy working life.

I searched for a cottage which ticked all our requirement boxes and Bronte Kingfisher certainly did that! The cottage itself is charming and really cosy, so dog friendly and our Border Terrier, Reggie loved playing in the enclosed garden. We had a very warm welcome from the owners who were there to greet us. The icing on the cake was the massive hot tub inside in a games room, it was fantastic! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will certainly be back! I have to also mention the lovely village pub, The Crown Inn which has Lea Spice, a fantastic Indian restaurant and takeaway as part of it, the food is excellent and one minute walk from the cottage.

Fantastic Cottage had a great stay. Area very beautiful. Excellent meal at the pub. This place is not just a holiday cottage, it is a Home. Fantastically equipped and very cosy. Loved the a fantastic base for exploring this lovely countryside (Ross n wye and forest of Dean. From the moment we met Mrs Besant at the cottage door our holiday was guaranteed to be wonderful. An immaculate and perfectly laid out cottage ideal for families. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch as we settled in on day one. The decor is beautiful. Both modern, yet maintaining the traditional charm of this little part of England. It was charming to see the horses trotting by the window A short break has felt like a long break and we hope to return in the future. A truly lovely place to stay. Thank you Mrs Beasant and Husband. Pity we couldn't stay longer. Thank you for being perfect hosts and tending to our every need... Hope to see you soon. Kindest Regards Miss Jenks. Negative, I can honestly say we didn't experienced any Unpleasantries. Lovely place to stay through and through.

Cottage was cosy, comfortable warm. Owner was very pleasant most helpful. Kitchen is very small but the large conservatory, hot-tub (excellent feature), two-tiered garden summer house more than made up for it. The decoration, curtains, bed linen, large soft fluffy towels etc., were very pleasing. The owner also allowed us to exercise our dog on their private field behind the cottage. The village shop is well stocked and this plus the pub garage are all a few minutes walk away. Surrounding area is beautiful.

Owners were very helpful and welcoming. Cottage had all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Hot tub is a great feature. The dog enjoyed exploring the garden. The cottage is a great portal to the Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons and Forest of Dean. There is a well equipped village shop opposite and a pub less than 50 yards array which has an Indian restaurant and takeaway which is very very good. All in all a great stay all round.

April 2014
Good location with everyday needs on the doorstep including a pub which accepted our 2 dogs. Cottage is compact but the addition of the games room and decent size garden more than makes up for this. Hot tub is superb and well maintained, with daily cleaning agents measured out in advance so very easy for us to keep it clean. Smart TV with netflix kept kids happy in the evenings.

Lovely area and cottage, bus stop right outside the front door. Hot tub was bliss, we were made to feel very welcome and The smart TV is a great feature.
December 2015
This is a wonderful cottage to use as a base to explore this lovely area. It has everything you can wish for including a great log burner, a fantastic hot tub and pool table which converts into an air hockey table. A mere 50 yards away is the Crown Inn which, on both occasions we visited, gave us a very warm welcome. We loved their curry :) The bottle of wine that Mrs Besant had left was a lovely touch.

Stayed for a week with the intention of walking locally. This turned out to be impossible because of blocked and very poor maintenance of local footpaths. Nevertheless, if you want to drive there are fantastic walks in the area and views to die for. The cottage is lovely, but the bed proved too soft for our liking. This was made up for by the hot tub to sooth our aches and pains whilst our dog played in the enclosed garden. The Crown Inn is 140 yards away and the A40 is very close but noise is not an issue.

After spending 4 days is this delightful cottage am totally chilled and relaxed loved everything about the cottage especially the hot tub and pool table such fun,not many walks for our dog and come night time pitch black everywhere as no street lighting so a good tourch needed, during the day we took our lab to the Forest of Dean which is ideal for any active dog! For food we went a short drive away to the Penny Farthing very friendly and nice food our host Deni a lovely lovely lady a warmer welcome you would be hard pushed to find and the bottle of wine a lovely touch "thank you" will definitely be returning
