The fascinating old slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is situated in a superb position for exploring the Snowdonia National Park. There is a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. The main local attractions include the slate mines - where visitors can take enthralling underground trips to see mining as it was done in days gone by - and the famous narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway which runs through the Snowdonia National Park to the harbour town of Porthmadog. Nearby Portmeirion is famous for its architecture and the film set of the cult TV series The Prisoner, plus local beaches, suitable for children, are within easy driving distance.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

We spent 6 nights here over New Year and had a lovely time. The cottage was perfect for us, provided lots of room and was comfortable and warm throughout. It's in an ideal spot and ideal as a base to enjoy exploring Snowdonia. For what we paid, it represented excellent value for money and we would highly recommend to others.

The property has a great family friendly layout. The extra DVD area was a bonus with children of differing ages wanting different films. The property was very clean and well kept and had seen extensive work on the garden. The furnishings were very comfortable and practical, and the entire ambiance made you relax and feel at home immediately.
