Cnoc Aitinn description

SPECTACULAR VIEW OF GALWAY BAY AND SEASIDE LOCATION IN CONNEMARA - Large detached house on one acre of wild Connemara garden with spectacular views of Galway Bay. Very spacious house with character. With large kitchen/diningroom, sitting room, separate TV room with colour TV and DVD player. Conservatory and utility room. Three bedrooms with double beds and 2 single bedrooms plus lots of floor space for children on camp beds etc. Located just 10 minute walk to beach and 15 minute to Spiddal village.

Spiddal is a small village on the shores of Galway Bay. It is part of the Connemara Gaeltacht, so for the natives Gaelic is their first language. The few pubs are lively with plenty of traditional Irish music. The beaches have Blue Flag status.
It is an ideal base for nature lovers - be they fishermen, golfers, hikers, birdwatchers, botanists, kayakers, surfers - or for anyone who just likes to experience the beautiful wild countryside. The Burren is just across the bay and the Aran Islands are only a 30 minute boat journey away.

Galway is a lovely old university city with a population of about 80,000. It is lively and relaxed with plenty to see and do. The city is regarded by many as the music capital of Ireland, and on any given day you will find different types of music in many of the pubs. There are a number of festivals during the summer months, including the Cuirt Poetry Festival, Arts Festival, Film Festival the famous Galway Races and the Oyster Festival.

This was a lovely stay, the house was beautifully kept, old charm with modern comforts! The accommodation was excellent, a beautiful bright house, kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and delftware. ( Eating breakfast in the conservatory was a treat while the children sleep on.) The area is quiet and a great place to unwind but still only a 10 min walk to the beach and Spiddal village. Well suited for families with either young children or teenagers.
