Cnoc Dubh Cottage Family Cottage description

Holiday home
This comfortable, little cottage is a relaxing holiday home close to the town of Kiltimagh, County Mayo in the west of Ireland. The ground floor accommodation comprises two double bedrooms, a family bathroom, the fully fitted kitchen and a cosy lounge with a welcoming open fire. There is an additional sun room and a small lawned garden at the front of the cottage making this a delightful home from home from which to explore the lakes, mountains and coast of this gloriously unspoilt part of Ireland.

The small town of Kiltimagh is a true Irish gem located in the eastern part of County Mayo. The town is a great base for the outdoor type with walks to suit all abilities, pony trekking facilities, a range of golf courses and fishing in the surrounding rivers. Further afield is the world famous pilgrimage site of Knock Shrine while the town of Claremorris has a range of shops and leisure facilities to suit the whole family.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

The location was very good, a quiet rural setting, yet close to all amenities. Attractive old style cottage, nicely furnished and decorated. Pleasant communication with owner.

The peace and quiet. If we had a request to make of the owners they were more then helpful and very obliging. The cottage was comfortable and was perfect for what we needed.

A lovely wee traditional Irish cottage which was very clean, warm and comfortable. It was close to the nearest town and central for all destinations I wished to visit. The cottage itself was tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable and in a peaceful quiet setting up its own private road. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would use it if available, if I ever returned to the area.
