Creag Bhan Coastal Cottage description

Holiday home
Creag Bhan was formerly the owner's family home, and is situated near Suladale on the Isle of Skye. With four bedrooms - two ground floor doubles and a first floor king size double and twin - as well as a ground floor bathroom and first floor shower room, this house comfortably sleeps eight. There is also a fitted kitchen with dining area, a sitting room with woodburner and a hallway with an upright piano. Outside, there is off road parking for up to four cars, as well as front and rear lawned gardens with furniture. Creag Bhan is a great family base all year round.

The crofters' hamlet of Suladale is a charming place over the sea to Skye situated between Portree and Dunvegan. A number of working crofts with livestock can still be seen here. Skye offers numerous visitor attractions including walking, fishing, bird-watching and horse riding at the stables close by. There's so much to see and do - take a boat trip out to sea from Portree; explore Dunvegan Castle, or climb up the Cuillin Mountains. The fabulous summer ceilidhs and lively pub sessions are not to be missed on any visit to this area, and they are a fantastic experience for locals and island visitors alike! Find out where the local tipple comes from at the popular brewery in Uig. Portree offers a number of fine restaurants, a good assortment of interesting shops and workshops whichshowcase local skills in arts and crafts.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

The house is very comfortable and cosy and is perfectly situated on the island for visiting Portree, Dunvegan and even further north. This was our 2nd trip to the Isle of Skye and it won't be our last. Thanks Sykes.

We had a lovely warm welcome, the owner answered all of our questions and queries about places to see. The quality of furnishings and the equipment in the kitchen was of a high standard as well as the linen and towels. It is by far one of the cleanest holiday rentals I have come across. There were 4 adults and 4 children ranging from 9 years to 14 years and we were very comfortable here. It feels like a home not a holiday place straight away. We loved the area too.

My friends and I really enjoyed our trip to Skye and stay in Creag Bhan. When we arrived at the house we got a good welcome from the owners along with a tour and a welcome pack which was very much appreciated. The house was a very good size with the kitchen and sitting room being able to sit the 8 of us very comfortably. It is located in a very good position half way between Portree and Dunvegan meaning you were close to shops but also to things to do. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessary equipment for cooking. There was a good sized television and a play station for the kids (and adults) to play on at nights. Also a enormous garden to run around in! The tumble dryer was not very good but clothes dryers were supplied so that wasn't a problem at all. Edinbane inn is located near by which served beautiful food and had live music playing. Over all it was a superb cottage which I would recommend too anyone visiting the island with plenty too do very close by.

This house on Skye was in an excellent location the rooms were very spacious and well kept lots of lovely little touches kitchen was massive and had everything you could wish for to prepare your own meals house was very warm and cosy especially wood burner in living just what we needed after a wild and very wet day out on ellgol beach would definitely stay here again

We enjoyed our stay at Creag Bhan. It was conveniently located so as not to be too long a drive in any direction. I did not like the fact that they took only week long rentals as we only needed 4 nights. The kitchen had the basics for cooking. We never did figure out how to make the dryer work! The space was nice with 6 of us staying there. Could have easily fit 8 but only 2 bathrooms and 1 shower! We saw some very unique parts of Skye and had excellent weather all 5 days. We went to Fairy Glen, the Fairy Pools of Glen Brittle, Neist Lighhthouse and Coral Beach, All provided beautiful, unique hikes. The Old Schoolhouse restaurant in Dunvegan was a great dinner. The Flodigarry House in Staffin has new owners as of 2 wks ago that did an excellent seafood chowder. Can recommend this cotttage

The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything we needed. An excellent base for visiting the Northern parts of the Isle of Skye: Dunvegan Castle, Uig Pottery, Skye Skyens and Talisker Distillery - something for everyone!
