Cricketer's Cottage is in a great location, with generous parking. There was a big secure garden for our dog and more than enough room for us all to be comfortable.

Cricketer's Cottage was a lovely 300 year old property lots of character, clean and well presented. Nice garden with lovely views.

We loved the cottage as it had so much character and it was warm and cosy. It was also big enough for all of us with room to spare! There were 7 of us for the first couple of days and then just myself and my husband after our grown up children and their friends left. The cottage was so well-equipped, with plenty of everything - plates, mugs, saucepans, etc. It was also very homely with pictures on the walls and small knick knacks around the place and it was lovely to be able to light a fire in the wood burning stove in the old part of the house.

Booked this cottage for a family get together of 9 adults/teenagers. Great location but 4 members of the family continually banged their heads on the very low beams. Also the twin room is located off a double with an even smaller door to get through. The teenagers felt like hobbits especially as one is 6'2"! And the single room is on the other side of the new extended lounge house, all by itself, which some smaller children could find unsettling. The showers were difficult to manage the temperature, the fridge freezer appeared to broken as we discovered the butter soft and the ice cubes had melted and the dining table only just squeezed all of us around it. Overall the cottage was adequate as we weren't there too much during the day but any longer we would have complained.

Have just returned from a week's stay at Cricketer's Cottage with my husband, our grown up children plus 2 of their friends and we loved it! The cottage is full of character, with original beams and tiled floors, and not a straight line or right angle in sight but it's also warm, cosy and very homely. Yes, there are low ceilings and doorways in some of the bedrooms but that is part of the charm of staying in a house that is 350 years old! There is a large family lounge in the newer conservatory which is large enough for everyone to sit down and play games in or watch TV. There is also a second smaller lounge area in the older part of the house, with a woodburner stove, comfortable sofa and a small TV. The dining table sits 8 comfortably so it would be a bit of a squeeze to fit a ninth person around it but it's manageable. All of our party said the beds were very comfortable and we had no problems with the showers or the bath. The kitchen has a 5 burner hob and large oven and is extremely well-equipped with plenty of utensils, cutlery and crockery, etc. There's a second larger fridge/freezer and dishwasher in the utility room. Unfortunately, because we were not blessed with great weather, we did not make full use of the large garden but there's a brick BBQ and outside furniture and 2 resident ducks! At the front of the house there is parking for at least 4 cars.

We stayed at Cricketer's Cottage with 6 adults (family 2 parents, son with daughter in law and daughter with son in law) and we really loved it! The cottage is large enough for everyone to have some space and privacy but it still very cosy. We loved the different sitting rooms, one in the old part of the house with a fireplace was our favorite, sitting together in the evenings at the fireplace with a glass of whisky. And making plans for the next day. The house also has a really beautiful garden! Even thought the weather was bad we enjoyed the view from the sitting room with the big glass doors looking at the rabbits and ducks in the garden. Some people leave comments about the height, there are some wooden beams in the old part of the house which are very low, and yes the guys in our family bumped their heads but still, you should just be aware of it, the wooden beams give the house character and it shouldn't be a reason not to book this cottage. There are a few things the owner should do to make this Cottage truly perfect: it wasn't really clean, dust under the beds and dog hairs on a carpet in a bedroom, a pet friendly cottage doesn't mean you have to sleep next to the doghairs of previous visitors. And the kitchen knifes can use an update. But overall we had a great stay, it felt cosy, very warm and homely. The views are great, go for a walk in the area! Would go back if I could!
