We loved being on a small farm with chickens wandering around. We also enjoyed being able to use the wood burner in the evenings. This is a perfect accommodation and location for anyone with a dog. Our old black Labrador had a fabulous time.

Liked the rural location of the cottage yet with great access to Dumfries and mountain biking routes. The relaxed and friendly nature of the owners, and being able to come and go as we pleased. Wasn't a long enough holiday!

Amazing conversion of former milking parlour to spacious cottage. Right in middle of farm with cockerels, considerately crowing at 9am, a friendly pony and a cute sheep. Location perfect for touring south west Scotland. We also had folding bikes and the area has lovely quiet country lanes for cycling, e.g. to Ruthwell village and Church (a must). Downsides - there is no Wi-Fi signal. On arrival we had to hoover up crumbs around the bed, clean the toilet, remove hairs from the bath, and clean some drawers.

This is a well looked after cottage in a quiet location. I'd recommend it for a short break!
