Demelza Barn Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
This wonderful barn conversion is superbly located amidst the lush green fields of Cornwall's far west, just two miles from the delightful village of Reawla. With a spacious living room and adjoining conservatory as well as a large kitchen with dining table, the property also boasts a lovely garden with shared paddock where visitors can enjoy a summer barbecue. With a huge variety of attractions and spectacular coastal scenery, visitors will never be lacking something to do in the local area.

Set amongst lush fields and just four miles inland from the lovely beaches at Hayle is the pretty village of Reawla – an ideal place from which to explore this lovely region. The home to a number of Celtic myths and legends, this area is also home to the remainder of Cornwall's tin mining heritage. With the addition of lovely sandy beaches, rolling surf, hidden covers and outstanding cliff-top walks, this area has something for everyone. Within easy driving distance are the towns of Penzance and Helston, as well as the quaint fishing harbour and artist's colony of St Ives. St Michael's Mount with its medieval castle and church are well worth visiting too, and are just a few minutes away.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

The Cottage was wonderful - could not be better in any way. All my party was over seventy and I am disabled, one of the best holidays we have had.

A fantastic area and the cottage was very spacious. There was more than enough room for our 3 very active children to play and explore. Would definitely book this cottage again.

The setting for the barn was very peaceful. All you could hear was the noise of birdsong every morning. The dog loved the garden and the paddock to run about in. It was our first visit to Cornwall and it is every bit as lovely as people say it is.

We have stayed at Demelza Barn previously. The accommodation is excellent. It is also an easy journey to the beach at Gwithian and Godrevy and the nearby farm shop provides an great choice of fresh food.

Stayed here for a week and was such a nice quiet place to be. First of all it was very hard to find as the sat nav says you've reached your destination before you've arrived. You then have to carry down the road for 5 minutes to reach it. Then there's a tiny sign in the hedge. So it needs to be better sign posted. There's about 3 cottages in the same area which are very big and spacious. It's a very peaceful area, making it easy to sleep and relax. Each room is very spacious and has great views from the Windows. However due to the space, there could be more furniture and overall it needs to be more updated. The TV is very old fashioned and is hard to get specific channels. There are no wardrobes, just curtains with hangers behind them! The sink also kept getting blocked when it rained and made strange noises as the dirt was being pushed back up it. It does need some serious work but the people who own it are very elderly, so I don't expect it. The cleaners also need to actually clean... I found an empty mars bar wrapper under my bed. Disgusting! However everything else was lovely. Was able to hang washing out on the line. Mattresses were very comfortable. Really enjoyed sitting in the conservatory and having meals. Oven cooked quickly and was just generally a pretty cottage. Would only return if work was done.

The holiday was a pleasure from beginning to end. The greeting we received from the owner made us all feel very at home. The quality of the property was without doubt the best we have stayed at in the area.

The holiday was brilliant. Very restful and full of country life. Easy access to all major holiday resorts such as St Ives, Penzance, Lands End, Falmouth and many other attractions. There was plenty of wild life around the barn including the turkeys next door, guinea fowl and chickens which came every day. The children had a ball and loved the birds and squirrels who they have only seen on tv or a book before. Would certainly go back. The owners were very helpful and friendly.
