The location was excellent for what we wanted to do. Although we were on a busy road, as advised, we were not disturbed and overall had an enjoyable week.

The Cottage was old and quaint and in a nice location on the outskirts of the village, 5 minutes walk to local shops. There was plenty of local info and lots of footpaths around the village to walk the dog. In a good position for visiting all the popular tourist attractions in the area.

The cottage itself was quirky and quite lovely. It was very well-equipped and we were lacking nothing. The village was friendly and local shops supplied most things you are likely to need. Many places of interest to visit without travelling too far, and a dog-friendly holiday that actually is dog-friendly. Pubs where the dogs get served first with free biscuits and plenty of water and where they are welcome to sleep under the table indoors while the humans eat dinner. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we would certainly book the cottage again if staying in that area again.

The property was a good base for visiting lots of different points of interest. The age of the property was very nice and it had a cosy feel to the place, we felt very comfy in the lounge at night. We discovered some beautiful bike rides setting off from the cottage and exploring the local area. Laxfield village in particular was a nice little discovery, great old pub at the back of the church, great for good quality home-made pub food. We had a wonderful week site seeing and would definitely visit Suffolk again in the near future.

Really cosy cottage. Excellent base to explore the area and wonderful for cycling. One of the best cottages we have stayed in, we will definitely be coming back.

The photos of Feather Cottage bore little resemblance to what we found. It was dark, run down & in desperate need of much TLC.Kitchen poorly equipped(only 1 cereal bowl so one of us had to use a pie dish!),no continers that fitted in the microwave.Oven thermostat light broken so we had to guess when it came to temperature.Water is on Economy 7 so that by teatime it was only luke warm.Inside of windows were filthy and numerous cobwebs around them.Garden is not accessible directly from cottage but via a passageway making it difficult with a dog.All in all a big disappointment, will not be returning.Very poor value for the money spent.
June 2015
Furnishings dirty and very old. Cobwebs and dust and dirty paintwork. Dim lighting in lounge area for evening reading. Dishwasher dirty, mouldy and not in use. All electrical item were PAT out of date by three years. Not an ideal for parking safely outside. Very poor steep steps to climb in order to go upstairs to bedroom, very shallow steps and slippery.
July 2014
Quirky cottage for 2 adults + 2 dogs max. Well-equipped and there was nothing we couldn't find. Difficult stairs, not suitable for the less agile. Small garden which suited us, situated down pathway. Road parking not ideal as situated on a rise and a bend, but the car remains unscathed. Very friendly area and good quality shops in village for meat and deli with small Mace. Nearest pub 20 min walk away. The lounge is dark in the late evening as there is no centre light. Generally very dog-friendly area. Would use again. Reasonable rent incl electricity and linen.

well as the guide says the cottage is quaint ..... but it is the 21st century! This place needs some money spending on it- to bring it up to an acceptable standard. The place is dominated by a coal fire- this is very nice but fills the lower room with dust and it is dirty. The hot water works off the fire and immersion heater overnight- this allows for one bath only per day and this must be in the morning. The shower over the bath is a joke and just gives out tepid water. The television is minuscule- and its a rigmarole to work! It's a pretty location and a lovely part of England but this standard of accommodation isn't really up to scratch anymore, you should have a certain level of convenience and comfort when you are on holiday. There were some games and jigsaws for amusement- the "Boggle" didn't have a timer and some poor previous guest had written on a jigsaw box "There are 3 pieces missing!" Spend a few grand and it'll be lovely. best bit was the lovely comfy bed
July 2013
Nice place but only for the summer months for us. Very dark inside but fine as it was July. Stairs are more like a ladder as the bedroom is in the attic you do have to be very careful but we managed ok not so sure if you were taller than 5ft 6. Garden was very basic but the summerhouse is not what it says it is... old locked up and not available to use. the accomodation has a joint access with next door and the garden is not immediately out side. Pub in Sibton 20 mins walk. Coast around 20 mins away. Nearest town about 15 mins away for supermarket. All in all nice break. Would I reccomend this to a friend possible yes but would like to see the description changed.

Feather Cottage felt like an authentic Suffolk Cottage with period features. The open fire absolutely made the holiday for me. The kitchen was provisioned well with thoughtful extras and the bedroom was lovely with loads of extra blankets and a nice minimal amount of furniture.
