Lovely cottage and garden. We had a great week, weather was beautiful so we got to enjoy the wonderful country views whilst sitting in the garden, which is perfect for a lively pooch to burn off some energy! Cottage is a home from home, cosy and welcoming. Couldn't recommend it enough, especially if you want your pet to feel as welcome as you and we will definitely be returning.

The cottage was in the most fabulous location! It was extremely dog friendly, we took two dogs and the garden was large and secure with the most magnificent views. We will definitely being going back, our 11 year old daughter loved it. The selection of games and DVDs left at the house was great but we hardly watched the TV, the location was too good to stay indoors!

Fell View Barn was a beautiful renovation in a very peaceful location with wonderful views. It was larger than we thought it would be and the log burner in the living room made it very cosy in the evenings. We thought that it was great to have the enclosed garden for the dog and were very pleased with how dog friendly the cottage was. A lovely place to relax.

A beautiful well equipped cottage in a quiet area, perfect for taking the dogs on holiday. The front and back garden are both enclosed and the back garden has loads of room for the dogs to run around. There are lovely quiet walks very nearby and the nearest shops are a few miles away. Will definitely return in the summer. Thank you!

The most dog friendly place I have ever stayed in. Very well equipped and comfortable, you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the front door. If you like to walk this cottage is ideally positioned for the fells and within a short driving distance for woodland parks and nature reserves.

The layout of the house was fantastic. Cannot fault the property or the holiday in any way, shape or form. We met the owners who were lovely people. Everything was top notch and we would be happy to recommend to anybody.

The cottage was lovely, very clean and well furnished. Very good attention to detail. The shortbread biscuits, milk and jams were a lovely touch. I think we gobbled up the biscuits on the first night. It was a very comfortable and cosy cottage.

We've had the warmest welcome ever! Especially my dogs Nikki, Fay and Kenzo! They loved the treats and felt home immediately! Best shower and mattresses ever in the UK! We've had a great time and will come back, for sure! Bit sad my sister Ellen and I will go to Wales tomorrow... Could stay here forever... Thanks for everything and all your tips Jane! Best wishes, Esther and Ellen Jansen, our mum Maria and stepdad Patrick, my dogs Nikki, Fay and Kenzo

Awesome! We love this place. Amazing views from the cottage and great adventures from the front door! The cottage was comfortable and we felt at home straight away.Equipped and furnished to a very high standard. Comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean. Child friendly. Was really cosy with the wood burner. Tony and Jane (the owners) couldn't have been more helpful. We would thouroughly recommend this lovely cottage. Can't wait to return in the new year! Thanks for an unforgettable break.

Fell View Barn was a gem of a find. It is difficult to find quality accommodation which take more than two dogs. We took our three Basset Hounds who loved it. I have never found a more hound friendly place to stay. The Barn itself is simply beautiful with stunning views of the fells and it perfect for exploring Cumbria and the Lakes. I cannot praise this place enough!
October 2016
This place proved to be a fantastic setting for my wife, our daughter and two dogs. Easy access to the Lake District National Park and some great fly-fishing (Trout Master) venues very near by. We will definitely be back, our only regret is not discovering Fell View Barn sooner. Highly Recommended ************* The owner could not have been more accommodating.

It is so difficult finding somewhere we can go on holiday with our four Jack Russells, so Fell View Barn has been the most wonderful discovery! A beautiful 'barn' where dogs are as welcome and well catered for as their owners. Great walks from the door, or Nine Standards Rigg from Kirkby Stephen, or a relaxing day in the fully enclosed and secure garden, taking in the peace and tranquillity and fabulous views. Definitely a place to return to!

Just spent a very peaceful week at this lovely dog friendly cottage. It's almost the last house up a lane that heads up to the fells so was so quiet with no passing traffic - only problem was having to wait for the odd herd of cows to make their way in for milking now and then but all added to the charm lol. The owners have paid great attention to detail and left everything you need to get started including milk, cookies, starter pack for the lovely log burning stove which we used every night. You would be hard pressed to find a more dog friendly cottage. There is a safe enclosed rear garden, large throws for the sofas, dog towels, bowls, dog beds, leads etc and our 3 were very impressed with their welcome pack of treats and tennis ball! There are lots of walks nearby we particularly liked a loop you can do in nearby Kirkby Stephen which goes along the river and follows the track of an old railway that goes over two very high viaducts ( safe for dogs as walls quite high). We did explore the fells close to the cottage but the footpaths are not very well marked and it is easy to get lost even with a map. Our dogs loved it though and made full use of the various bogs etc much to our delight!! Shops and supermarket are about 15 minutes away in Kirkby Stephen and there are lots of places to visit with Windermere about a hour away and Appleby and Kendal about 35 minutes. We had a lovely week and it was all over way to soon. An ideal cottage if you want somewhere quiet to get away from it all. Lots and lots of info about local dog friendly pubs and things to do and see also provided by the owners.

This place is just wonderful. My partner and I stayed for Valentine's weekend, what a romantic setting. The barn is well equipped, if you are cooking you really don't need to take anything with you. Lots of lovely little extras like biscuits for you and the pooches, some logs for the fire and little soaps. It is warm and cosy, the photos really do not do it justice. Stunning original beams and high ceilings. Beautiful original features. The surrounding countryside offers lots of walks, we climbed to 9 standards rigg and can thoroughly recommend it. Without a doubt, we will be returning.

despite he weather we had a great time in this beautiful cottage. The house has everything you need. My partner was obsessed with the wood burner..I was so hot..very cosy as the weather was atrocious..we stayed here with my brother his partner and me and my other half..lovely welcome pack and doggy treats..the rooms are very spacious and very comfy beds. Nearby kirby stephens is a lovely little village with nice shops and lovely chinese to come here in the summer to sit in the very large garden and see the fells in the distance. The only hiccup was no wifi and no signal on my phone at all..but a few days away from all that is not a bad thing

My wife, my daughter, myself and our two dogs spent New Year at Fell View Barn. We can honestly say that , despite the inclement weather, it was one the most pleasant stays we have ever experienced. It's cosy, warm, beautifully located and extremely dog friendly. It doesn't just tolerate dogs, it actually welcomes and caters for them. We have no hesitation in giving Fell View Barn our full recommendation.
October 2015
There are cottages that allow pets and then there is Fell View Barn that welcomes them with open arms. The owners are dog people and provide anything you may forget. From towels to treats, bedding to bowls, even poo bags, plus throws if you like your pooch sat next to you on the sofa. With enclosed front and rear gardens for them to run around. We found Fell View Barn a spacious, comfortable, tranquil, conversion with wonderful views. If, like us, you like walking then this is an ideal spot.. Even if you don't have pets then give this accomodation a serious consideration. Give Jane Hallyman a ring on 07798801591. You'll not regret it.

I can not rate this place highly enough! The location was stunning, tranquil and very relaxing.... This was our first year with our four legged family pet and I was blown away with how well the owners had accommodated for bringing them on towels, dog beds, throws for the sofas, bowls, treats and even poo bags! The property itself for us "humans" was lovely. Very spacious 2 bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom. Downstairs the lounge was cosy with log burner and patio doors out to garden, kitchen with dinning area and also door out to garden and wee loo downstairs too! It was all very tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean. This cottage has to be the most well equipped self catering property I have stayed at, everything has been thought of. The garden to the front and rear was enclosed and secure which was fantastic. Its location is perfect too for touring and sightseeing its central for Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Teesdale. We have had a brilliant week here and look forward to returning very soon. Thanks Jane & Tony for all your attention to detail. It was all very much appreciated.
