Loved this cottage, there was plenty of room for 4 adults and a 6 year old to run around. The garden was lovely, I could sit by the waterfall all day and watch the wildlife. The views from the cottage were beautiful, we could watch the sun set behind the mountains. Had a really good week there, will be returning.

It's location was excellent, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It was also very central to the areas we wanted to visit, and the peace and quiet it offered us was extremely appealing.

An enjoyable stay. The most important part is a comfortable bed and this had just that. The cottage was cosy and warm. It was set in a wonderful location near to some great walks. We had an enjoyable stay and would return.

The cottage was perfect for us; the large enclosed garden allowed us to leave the dog outside without worrying about her. The village was quiet and the shop was basic but Bala was only 5 minutes away. We would definitely come here again.

It was pet friendly which helped us to relax and enjoy our time there knowing the garden was secure and there was an appropriate place for them to sleep. We loved it and will definitely come back.

A lovely cottage in a superb location. The waterfall is stunning and the views of the mountains are breathtaking. The local pub does excellent food with great service and the villagers are very friendly. The location of the cottage provided privacy, but it wasn't remote and there is easy access to many attractions in the Snowdonia area. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The cottage and fittings were very good and we enjoyed our stay. It was well positioned for visiting Snowdonia and I was much impressed with the amount of up to date brochures covering attractions around the area.

Cottage was spacious and welcoming. The garden had lovely views and lots of sun but also shade for the dog. There was a good selection of things to do within an hours drive.

It was as described in the literature, and had a fabulous view. It was close enough to Bala for the day to day requirements, and overall a good base for a holiday in Wales. I would recommend this property, it was lovely.

We stayed her for a week from Easter Saturday. This cottage is situated in a lovely setting however it is not in the best state of decoration or cleanliness. We had to wash all the crockery, glasses, cutlery and pans before use as they were dirty. The kitchen is dangerous as the socket where the radio is located has a loose or broken screw which meant that it came away from the wall when extracting a plug, the kitchen lighting is insufficient with blue bulbs and some missing! and there are no bulbs in the cooker hood. So dangerous to use the kitchen after dark. The settings on the cooker have rubbed off. The grill pan handle was broken and unsafe to use. The wallpaper in most rooms is peeling and the plaster coming off the wall in the fireplace. There were cobwebs in the bathroom, bedrooms and on top of the cooker hood. The whole place is neglected. The woodburner had not been emptied of ashes nor the glass cleaned. The valance sheets on the back bedroom and single bedroom were dirty and watermarked. The main bedroom lights did not work on the dimmer switches either because of an electrical fault or the wrong bulbs. The standard lamp in the single bedroom did not work either. The covers on the settee were filthy and when the sofas were moved forward the areas behind them were extremely dirty. The table mats were dirty and had to be cleaned before use as was the freezer compartment of the fridge/freezer. I suppose I should have made a complaint at the time however not wishing to cause any further upset to my family I did not. Having paid a premium for this cottage during Easter half term I would not have expected it to be in such a poor condition and am very disappointed. I will not be re-visiting either the property or Sykes Cottages in the future and certainly will not be recommending either to friends and family

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very spacious an comfortable. Fantastic if staying with a dog because of the enclosed large garden. Always nice to have comfortable place when you have inevitable rainy days and have to stay in. There is a nice big TV which is a bonus because we always bring a games console. So many times you are only provided with a tiny tv. Also the wi fi was fast and reliable which is important to us. There is a short walk to pub/shop in village and the Bala lake railway is minutes away which is great to get into main town without driving. This part of Wales is fantastic and a great base for day trips. Wil probably go here next year.

The property was located on the outskirts of llanuwchylln, a small village at the southern tip of Lake Tegid (Bala). We found the property to be reasonably spacious but in need of some care and attention, could do with the decoraters in. It also is a dog friendly property which unless you are a dog lover which we are not, found it to be a bit "smelly". Ideal cottage for hikers, walkers, dog owners and those who are not in search of luxury accomodation. It is very well placed for explorig the area with some great walks from the front door. The decking at the rear of the property is the jewel of the crown but because of the amount of rain we had recently found the torrent of water to be extremely loud to the point of annoying, should be fantastic with less rainfall. The access to the property bacame a skill, I have a Nissan Juke and by the end of the week was an expert, we had to drive past the property turn round and then approach from a north direction, also leaving the property was a reversal of entering, after a while it was second nature.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Glan Twrch. Beautiful area and great location. Cottage is in need of some work and general tidying up. We stay at a lot of cottages and sadly this disappointed, in terms of cleanliness and general tidiness. The cottage and especially the cupboards (were dirty) and tea towels had a fusty smell (I don't believe this is dog related, you can still be clean with a dog!) there were cobwebs, peeling wallpaper and the handrail had been repaired but the filler could still be seen, not sanded or painted over. We have been spoilt and whilst never expected there was no welcome pack of milk etc, after a v long journey this would have been welcomed, thankfully we had picked some up but others may not, worth considering? Positives are the size of the property and the decking area. Nice walks nearby and Lake Bala (Lyn Tegid) is truly beautiful. We visited Barmouth beach twice as we had gorgeous weather and we also climbed Mount Snowdon, both highly recommended, although Snowdon is 50 miles from the cottage. Had a great week but please smarten it up, it could be great.,

This cottage is brilliant if you have kids and a dog. The back room as you come in was really handy to kick off shoes wellies coats and dry the dog. The kitchen was lovely and big to cook and chill . The bedrooms were good size and nicely decorated. We thought the cottage was ideal for a family, our dog Mabel loved the bed that was provided for her was so comfy. I liked the fact that the carpets weren't to posh, it meant you didn't have to panic about the dog and kids . The waterfall at the back of the cottage was wonderful, if you go in the summer, take beach shoes for the children, they can have hours of fun playing in it. Lots of lovely walks near by. The local pub is also a shop, so if you go for food you can grab some bread and milk as you leave, the food was delicious too. I couldn't fault this cottage it was absolutely perfect. The drive is a bit steep, but that's all. Don't let any reviews put you off, if you have a family and dog this is for you . REALLY LOVELY xx
