We booked this cottage on spur of the moment, and we are glad we did, it was one of the best holidays we have had for a long time. The owners could not have not been any more helpful and friendly; nothing was to much trouble for them. The views were fantastic. We are already planning to go back. We could not find fault with any of it.

Wonderful holiday and the owners made us very welcome. Lovely views and nice and warm in the cottage at night. It was very cold outside one or two nights and the heating came on without us having to ask. We will be going back again.

The owners were brilliant hosts and the property is amazing. The cottage is well situated and adequately equipped. They made our stay very special, during our time there we got married and they looked after our dog on the day and allowed my family to visit to get ready. This has been one of the nicest places we have stayed in quite a few years.

The warm welcome and the approachability of the owners. They were helpful, informative and friendly without any sense of intruding. It was clear they had the comfort and enjoyment of the holiday maker in mind whatever the weather may be. Also we found this to be a superb place for any disabled person who is able to manage the 4 steps from the kitchen to the rest of the cottage, which is then all on one level.

August 2016
We stayed for a week and the weather was wonderful. The cottage seems a little out of the way but it is fantastic and only 5 minute from the outskirts of Whitby and a few minutes from an excellent Park & Ride. The owners couldn't do enough for you and they were friendly without being overpowering! We have two dogs and they were made as welcome as we were. The owners offered to look after them and we left them for one afternoon where we had a chance to do a few things on our own. We mostly took the dogs out as the whole area is dog friendly. We visited Sandsend which is a really wonderful place and spent hours on the beach. Out for 6 hours a day we found the cottage cosy and homely at night and it was one of the nicest places we had ever stayed.

This cottage is very nice and the owners have thought of everything to equip it with even a hair dryer. The owners are very on hand and very friendly, you are right out in the countryside but with the main road a couple hundred yards away from which is is a pleasant 15 minutes drive away into Whitby.I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone.

May 2012
Lovely spacious cottage with fabulous views, owners very welcoming and friendly and on hand to give advise on the area .Peaceful location ,ideal place if you want to get away from it all.Diesel our Boxer dog had a lovely time.
July 2010
A very dog friendly cottage with welcoming, friendly and helpful owners on site. Spacious accommodation for two with a well equipped kitchen. Located in a tranquil setting with pleasant views and well tended gardens. Conveniently situated for the moors and Whitby. No pubs within walking distance but several a short car's journey away. Only criticism was that slightly more care could have been taken in cleaning after the previous occupants ( hairs on the carpets, grimey mirrors).
September 2011
Owners very helpful and informative in respect of places of interest to visit. Also dog friendly, which was important to us.
December 2009
Gorgeous rustic spacious but cosy cottage in lovely setting with lovely views. Extremely friendly owners. Own garden for our two dogs. Not far from Whitby and the Moors. Excellent food pubs nearby. Only thing was it didn't seem to us that the cottage had been cleaned after the last guests - the bathroom was clearly dirty and things like dead flies on windowsills don't give the best impression. It was just a good job that all the positive things outweighed this.
Mrs Parr
September 2014
An excellent Cottage, nicely set out with great views. It was comfortable well equipped.
Mrs Perry
September 2014
Excellent location and stunning views from lounge bedroom. The owners were so helpful and very friendly, on arrival showed us around cottage and had left us 6 fresh free range eggs from their own hens. Cottage was very cosy, heating had been set for morning evening. It was a lot bigger than I expected for a one bedroom cottage. Also there was wifi which we weren't expecting. So many lovely places to see right from your doorstep, and not far from excellent pubs, Black Bull The Horseshoe at Egton Bridge. Our 2 Golden Retrievers were made very welcome and one of the most pet friendly cottage we have stayed at. Recommend this cottage.
Mrs Evans
October 2014
This cottage was deceptively large, comfortable and quiet; homely with beautiful views. Newly installed Wi-Fi was a bonus. Ample parking next to the cottage, a point often vaguely described in other property listings. A very dog friendly property, where the welcoming owners and their three dogs kindly let us use the paddock to exercise the dog. Would not hesitate using this again.
