The ancient town of Sherborne, whose castle was once the home to Sir Walter Raleigh, is only a short drive away, as is the interesting hilltop town of Shaftesbury. This lovely part of the world also offers Glastonbury, ancient Stonehenge, and Stourhead gardens, which are all located within easy driving distance.
