We had a fantastic time and would return without hesitation. People in the area were so friendly and even our dog enjoyed everything. The property and area was fantastic, we would move to the area in a heartbeat!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week. The cottage was very comfortable, warm and in a perfect location for exploring the island. We are already thinking of a return visit next year.

The cottage was really good value for money given its size and the ability to take my two dogs with me.

A very nice property in a very nice location. It was well stocked, every possible appliance and utensil was available. Rooms were spacious, and the extra storage/playroom upstairs was very handy. It was very clean with a well maintained garden that we made full use of.

The house was in a perfect location for us. There are lots of walks for the dogs and close to the beach for the kids. The house had everything we needed. The owner was very helpful when the fridge/freezer broke down on the first day, we were well looked after. We would highly recommend this house.

The property is in a great location for walks, with many only a couple of minutes drive from the cottage. The cottage is only a 20 minute walk from Skye's only sandy beach, complete with fossilised dinosaur footprint. The property has a reasonable size garden that is fully enclosed - the kids and the dog loved it. The cottage shares a lane with a touring caravan site; we didn't find this problematic as there was very little noise and any vehicle movement was always sensible. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The cottage was private and well appointed.

The house was excellent in all respects. It was very private in its own grounds, very peaceful and quiet. Everything required was provided and is all of a good quality and modern. The kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances and very clean. All bedrooms were to a very high standard with new beds and very well presented. The living room was well furnished with a second living room allowing bigger groups extra space. The whole house was spotless and is clearly very well looked after with no evidence that pets are allowed to stay! I would definitely return to this property if I visit Skye again and would recommend it to all my family and friends. The owner was very friendly and stopped by to check we had everything. I will certainly use Sykes Cottages again in future as their service has also been excellent.

Great little cottage, which has almost everything you could need, if you don't mind being a little bit out of the way. Great for accessing the Trotternish Ridge, which is what we were here to do, and a great place to come back to after a days walking. We were here in August so a little more expensive, but worth the money.

Just back from a fantastic holiday in Skye. This cottage is lovely, so well equipped and spotlessly clean. There is lots of space, and very comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a home from home, and a great base in which to go exploring the fantastically beautiful Isle of Skye.

We stayed here Monday to Saturday with our two dogs. It was easy to find from directions given. The cottage itself sits on its own in an enclosed garden. Inside was immaculate and was well furnished. It had all the utensils and appliances you would need from a self catering accommodation. We would highly recommend this cottage to everyone. We couldn't find a single fault with it. We will definitely use it again on our next visit to Skye.

The house is adjacent a campsite, which you see from the front windows, but has its own garden. As we had been camping and came here for a bit of comfort this was fine for us. The location in the north of Skye was really good - lovely walk in the mountains. The houses facilities were better than described - a washer-dryer proved very useful. Some lovely touches in the bathroom. Be prepared there is no mobile signal and the local shop is closed Sundays.

We have just spent a fabulous two weeks exploring Skye with this cottage as our base. When we arrived we were welcomed warmly and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us in the kitchen. The rooms were well proportioned and and well laid out. The property was very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We had everything we could possibly need. The garden was excellent for the dogs and we were well looked after by the site caretakers, nothing was a problem for them, they were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this cottage to friends and family. Best of all wifi and mobile phone access was limited.
August 2014
Cottage better than expected from images. Very warm and cosy. Very quiet but it is next to a campsite which wasn't open while we were there.
October 2012
We love Skye but have always loved passing through Staffin. This year we decided to stay in Staffin for the week as I have been unwell. It was the best holiday the sun shone for the whole week, the holiday cottage had everything you could possibly need. Our pup had a great time chasing rabbits as we sat on the patio. The cottage itself was spotless and there was a small campsite outside our garden gate so watching the coming and going was interesting. The owners popped in to see that all was ok. Hope to do this again and I would recommend ths cottage to anyone.
November 2011
We stayed here for four nights in November. The house is in a great location set back off the main road in its own gardens. It was very quiet and peaceful. The facilities in the house were all modern, with a well equipped kitchen. All rooms were spotless and well presented. The house has two sitting rooms, one downstairs with a TV/DVD player, and a second room upstairs off one of the bedrooms with sofas and board games. At the back of the house, there is a larged covered area that can be used to store and lock up bikes if you cannot fit them all in the porch. The house is well located on the island with the Quiraing and Storr nearby, and Portree a short drive away. The village of Staffin also has a couple of local shops, but its only a short drive to Portree where there is a good sized Co-Op. Its a good base for walking and cycling, or for reaching other areas of the Island by car or bus. The house has a modern oil fired central heating system that warms up the house very quickly. I would certainly recommend this house to friends and family, and would return if I visit Skye again in the future. I booked this house through Sykes Cottages who provided a very good service, and helped me choose this house after my first and second choices were not available for short breaks.
