Langdale was gorgeous - extremely warm, comfortable and clean. The place is very well equipped and in an excellent location. Very good value for money, we will certainly stay again and there were two sad faces when it was time to leave. We will certainly recommend both the accomodation and Sykes Cottages to family and friends. We stay in the Lake District frequently in self catering accomodation and for comfort and value Langdale has been our best yet! Thanks for a great holiday.

The cottage was sparkling when we arrived. There was everything we needed in the kitchen. New clean dish cloths, tea towels etc. A full size fridge freezer was a great bonus. The sofas were good quality and very comfortable. The full glass wall gave lots of light and our baby loved watching the birds feeding on the balcony. Location was good. Quiet cul de sac yet minutes walk from Lake and nice coffee shops. Supermarket also within easy walking distance.

April 2006
Very comfortable lounge area. Very light property close to Bowness facilities.
April 2017
A well presented, ideally located property.Clean and tidy and within walking distance of Bowness (depending when you go is very busy,as is most of the lake district main areas). There is a main A road running past the back of the property but this wouldn't affect you unless you like absolute peace and quiet.Lots of pubs and eating places conveniently nearby. One niggle would be the lack of welcome book showing area details and emergency contacts, along with appliance instructions, quite important in rental properties.
Mrs Brittell
January 2006
The accommodation was as stated within easy walking distance of all amenities. It was clean, warm and very comfortable, so much so that we spent a lot of time indoors relaxing. We would definitely book the same property again.
May 2011
This is a lovely property to hire, it had everything you needed to make it a wonderful stay, the only thing I was a little dissappointed with was the view from the sitting room window. It is ideally situated for the village easy walking distance to the shop, the kitchen was well equiped, very clean and comfortable stay, I would recomend and have told lots of friends. We would look to book again in the future.
September 2012
We arrived on a wet Saturday, but woke up to a fairly nice Sunday, the day was to sort shopping and whats in the location. We were pleased to find all that we needed was centrally located, and the house was in an ideal place for getting to and from the lake on foot even when i had difficulty in walking. We did not travel far by car because of the ferries were able to get to where we wanted to go, not shore about cost, petrol against fare, but as we had three beautiful days statring Monday. We had a wonderful time the Thursday started ok but the weather started to turn bad, come Friday morning it was bad heavy rain, we started making tracks to go home,in fact we were all sorted by 12-00O clock so we left that afternoon. Other wise we had a wonderful stay, the place was nice and clean and plenty of off road parking, would we stay there again ? Yes & yes again. (family of five 4.5) We have been asked below for our information to be shared, so future guest can contact us, but we would like to remain Private Thank You

Having a central base in Bowness within an easy walk of an excellent variety of restaurants was a definite plus.
February 2014
Owner very pleasant & lovely. Home is extremely clean & has everything you need. Very good location within walking distance to shops, pubs, restuarants & lake.
December 2009
Well placed property, ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Well located for access into Bowness with all of the required amenities within walking distance. Well equiped and comfortable.
December 2009
I found the property to be a real home from home, with everything you'd want at hand, including a collection of games and toys for kids as well as tapes and CD's and a stereo. The house was immaculate, I'd have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone with a family. Also in a great position for the centre of Bowness.
