Llondy Romantic Cottage description

Holiday home
Llondy is a stone built, terraced cottage situated in the village of Penmachno, four miles from Betws-y-Coed, in the Snowdonia National Park. This cottage sleeps two people and has one double bedroom, as well as a family shower room. The cottage also has an open plan living area with kitchen and dining area, plus a sitting area with woodburning stove. To the outside of this cottage there is roadside parking and a small paved yard. Llondy is ideal for a romantic retreat and for those that wish to explore the stunning Snowdonia National Park.

Betws-Y-Coed is set in a beautiful valley in the Snowdonia National Forest Park. There are numerous craft and outdoor activity shops to be found in the town, with the popular Swallow Falls nearby. Much of Betws-Y-Coed was built in Victorian times and it is now the principal village of the National Park. The woodlands, mountain ranges, waterfalls and ancient bridges that give the area so much of its charm have served as inspiration to artists throughout the centuries. The town is well served by inns and shops and even has its own railway station with a museum, miniature railway, shop and restaurant. The church of St. Michael dates back to the 14th Century and is one of the oldest in Wales. In addition to the stunning countryside that surrounds Betws-Y-Coed, there are a number of National Trust properties just a short drive away.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Electricity and starter pack of fuel for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking. Small paved yard. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. February 2005
We particularly enjoy the location and accessibility of Snowdonia National Park and the coast from Penmachno. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. We loved going walking and returning to a well heated, comfortable and very well equiped cottage and to have a wood burning fire was a particular attraction to my wife and myself particularly for the time of year. We were given the privacy we wanted with an invitation to ask the owners should we want for anything. These are the reason why we chose to return to this particular cottage for the second year running and will certainly stay there again.
Ms Higgins
May 2005
Beautiful cottage with a very homely feel and a very cosy wood burning stove- in a perfect setting in the heart of Snowdownia.
December 2009
Right from the time of arrival the owners of this cottage were brilliant. The gentleman met us at agreed time / place and took us to the cottage to show us around and how things worked. He came back with more logs in case they were needed. Being the landlord of the pub over the road he and his wife were always on hand. The cottage itself is small and quaint, tidy and clean bedding and towels provided. We loved this quiet location but unless your keen walkers a car is recommended. It is about 4.5 miles to Betws-Y-Coed which we walked on a number of occasions but at night with no footpaths and lighting this could be a little dangerous - we always took torches out with us. Going out in the car we were well positioned for all the tourist spots, only really 20 miles away from everything. We walked up Snowdon using the Llanberis path - brilliant but a pity it was so foggy when we got to the top. Incidently if you wish to get latest forcasts speak to the landlord/landlady and they go onto the internet for you and give you a report. Only one small thing we found a little annoying was the fact that the only pub in the village did not open every night and also did not do food at all. It would have been nice to get something to eat and a drink locally without having to walk 4.5 miles or drive. Apart from that everything else was perfect - we would go there again.
Mrs Coulston
December 2004

September 2012
This cottage was located in a quaint little Welsh village. My husband and I hiked each day and would sit with the locals in the pub each night. We read two novels each, cooked our own meals in a state of the art kitchen and relaxed.
December 2009
This is the second time we have stayed at the cottage. Lovely views and location - great welcoming pub just across the road! Betws-Y-Coed is beautiful and has everything you need. The Conwy Falls cafe is a must.
December 2009
Service from Sykes was excellent, web site and advisors were very informative. Key collection instructions were clear and simple. Lovely little cottage in a charming village location. Small but perfectly formed with a lovely open fire. Clean and well equiped. Parking was not outside but only a 2 minute walk to the local carpark. Nice village pub with friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere. We liked everything and there was nothing we didn't like.
