Margaret's Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Margaret's Cottage is a traditional stone built, mid-terraced cottage in the small village of Low Row in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the village of Reeth. Comprising one double bedroom, one twin and a family bathroom, this cottage is suitable for four people. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with an electric fire. Outside the cottage there is a terraced garden to the front with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, as well as off road parking for one car. Being so well located, Margaret's Cottage is the perfect base for a family wishing to explore all of the delights of this part of the Yorkshire Dales.

A scattering of traditional farms and cottages make up the village of Low Row situated to the north of the River Swale. The village of Reeth just a short drive away dates back to Saxon times and became of sufficient size and importance to be mentioned in the Domesday Book. Its eighteenth-century houses and hotel clustered around the triangular village green make it one of the very popular Dales villages. Askrigg better known to millions as Darrowby in TV's James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small" is just a short drive away as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft).

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Electric storage heaters and woodburner. Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer on request, TV, DVD, radio, CD. Fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Travel cot & highchair available. Off road parking for 1 car. Terraced garden to front with furniture & BBQ. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. The location was perfect for us and this comfortable cottage with a south facing view over the Dale made for a grand stay. The sun shone all week, but we would still have enjoyed Swaledale whatever the weather, in such a cosy cottage. The owners were very helpful and made us very welcome indeed. Many thanks.

The cottage was very well appointed and spotless. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you could possibly need when cooking on holiday. The fridge-freezer was large. The provision of a washing machine was very useful. The living room was equipped with a good quality television and also a Blu-Ray player, which was a nice touch. The hot water was always boiling hot and there was plenty of it. The patio at the front of the house enjoys stunning views up and down the dale, and it was wonderful to sit out in the mornings and listen to the birdsong. We had a wonderful time, and will definitely be returning to stay here.

The views from the property were so beautiful and there are many good walks straight from the property and it was central to visit many interesting areas by car. The Punchbowl hotel/pub was very close and within walking distance and was very welcoming for a drink and meal after a long walk. Also the owners were very welcoming and made sure our stay went smoothly.

We live in Harrogate, wanted a week away but not to far. Found this cottage in Swaledale a area not visited before. So we duly booked it, have just got back what a brilliant week we had glorious weather apart from one day. Lovely cosy warm cottage with unbelievable views across and up swaledale, plenty of chairs to sit on and admire the views even a summer house. As I've said didn't travel far, but we could have been a million miles away the peace and quiet was bliss watching all the wildlife, we even saw a mole. Must not forget to mention Basil the cat who greeted us every morning. Plenty of places to eat, would recommend the Punch Bowl within walking distance and the Farmers Arms at Muker. Reeth a charming place would seem to have everything you might need. All in all a lovely holiday and a very comfy Yorkshire cottage.
October 2012
One of the best cottages we have ever stayed at, Fabby views, walks from the door, the owner was most helpful & welcoming. Everything you could ask for. Reeth is delightful the market (on a Friday) is Fantastic for local Produce,
