Strontian is located on the north shore of Loch Sunart and is the main village in this striking area of the West Highlands of Scotland, commonly referred to as the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. There is a relaxed pace of life here which is typical of the Highlands, with quiet roads and spectacular scenery. Strontian boasts good local amenities with shops, pubs and local hotels providing an excellent standard of cuisine. There is a real vibe in the village especially in the summer months, and wonderful live music can be heard in the Sunart Centre. From Strontian you can drive the spectacular mountain road over the shoulder of Ben Resipole and down to the beautiful Polloch, on the shores of inland Loch Shiel.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Marine Cottage is fantastic, it a very comfortable, spacious and modern accommodation. It was good to have 3 big bathrooms to avoid queueing and the dining area was spacious enough to sit 8 people comfortably without squeezing. Great sitting area for socialising together. Location was perfect - just on the edge of Strontian but near enough to walk to superb restaurant, pub or a shop. A warm welcome from owners. The views were fabulous also.

Marine Cottage was immaculate with everything at your finger tips. We were really impressed by the quality of the cottage. The view overlooking the Loch was a bonus. The owners were really helpful and we would definitely re-book Marine Cottage.

We would highly recommend Marine Cottage. All the rooms were bright and clean with lots of bathrooms to suit large families and a large kitchen with all mod cons. The owners were very helpful, caring and understanding.

Loved being able to enjoy the accommodation as much as enjoying the countryside of Scotland. It is furnished and equipped to a high standard and the owner was friendly and helpful when he came to welcome us. The week went by too quickly and we didn't want to leave!

Excellent modern cottage, in great location near to sea loch. Ideal for families wanting to explore this quiet area of Scotland, with abundant wildlife on the doorstep - pine martins in the back 'garden', otters, golden eagles and lots more.

The location, mind blowing views and privacy were great. The overall high standard of the property, decor and all furnishings was amazing. The owners have clearly spent lots of money on the property and high end appliances. The fact that we had a plasma tv, dvd, sky tv and wifi was really good for the rainy days we had.

We had a lovely stay in this fantastic cottage on the outskirts of Strontian overlooking Loch Sunart, beautiful views from all the windows. The house was beautifully clean tidy and warm with plenty of coal/logs for the stove. The owner had even lit the stove for our arrival.....a lovely welcome. The highlight of the cottage was the pinemartin who visited almost every night to eat the peanut butter we had put on the log store right outside the back door to entice him. The kitchen light and us with our noses pressed to the door didn't deter him. There are a couple of shops and cafes in the village for necessities. There's also a hotel/pub overlooking the bay. Fantastically positioned for touring the area, although be prepared for the very narrow roads!! Not much traffic though and plenty of passing places. We had a fantastic relaxing time and would love to return someday.

Myself and three friends rented this property. It has been one of the best holidays we have ever had.The views are absolutely mind blowing. The property itself has been done up to a very high standard. It has luxurious furniture, amazing kitchen and appliances including cutlery, pots and pans, plasma tv, sky, dvd player, book, games and wi-fi. It is very easy to get to and has good privacy. The landlords are very very nice people and the local people are very welcoming. There is a pub, hotel, petrol pump, two local shops and a cafe. The property is not that far from Fort William and other tourist attractions. The beach is a five minute walk and is good for fishing. There are many, really nice, footpath walks within the immediate area. We will definitely be back again in the near future and would recommed to all. To summarise, great location and views, value for money, amazing facilities and really welcoming locals.
