Gorgeous period cottage in a brilliant location to see north Devon and Somerset.

A good location for sightseeing and a lovely cottage to come back to and relax. There were beautiful views from the top garden and it was very dog friendly. There were lovely walks from doorstep and lots of tea rooms serving home baked food while visiting places of interest.

The location of the cottage is quite wonderful, with expansive views and only 5 minutes walk up the hill and you're on the Quantocks.

Moonfleat Cottage was a perfect retreat for us with the added bonus of a woodburner. The cottage was spotless and had a very warm, quiet and welcoming feel. All of the appliances were of excellent quality and in working order. The views from the cottage and the garden are beautiful and picturesque. The welcome pack was a nice touch too.

The location of the cottage and how quiet the area was. Not far from shop/pub and local places to visit. We will visit this cottage again hopefully next September and take my mum and the dog with us.

The area is of outstanding beauty and has plenty of walks. The owner contacted me on arrival to make sure all was OK which, was much appreciated. Some beautiful beaches which my dog loved, especially Blue Anchor beach. We visited Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton which was a lovely day out. We were very lucky to have had beautiful weather as well.

Moonfleat is a delightful, well equipped, cosy cottage - a saviour in the severe weather conditions we experienced. We were snowed in and unable to move the car for 3 days. Driving was tricky thereafter because of flooded lanes and fallen trees blocking roads, however, changing our plans due to the weather did not really matter. We were forced to slow down and do very little in comforting surroundings. We could walk to the local garage shop for emergency supplies and walks in the snow up the hill were magical - beautiful snowy views in sparkling sunshine.

My husband, Son and our dog have just had a lovely 4 stay stay at Moonfleat Cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage, fabulous walks from the door, right on the doorstep of the beautiful Quantocks, Cottage, lovely - immaculate with lovely large garden, very cosy, has everything you need to a lovely, relaxing or walking holiday. TV with good freeview, our son loved it!

loved the 300 year old feel of this cottage very comfortable bed be sure to bring some logs for the wood stove with you
June 2014
The cottage had lots of character including lots of steps and areas to hide for the children. It had Wi-Fi which was a much needed added bonus and a Freeview T.V. which was useful when the weather wasn't kind. The shower was great, dishwasher a god send and lovely views from the bedroom windows. It is quite spacious although the main living area is cosy with 4 people in there. It is tired looking and is need of a face lift in some of the rooms, but if you are not bothered by such detail then you'll find it's ok. The location is perfect for exploring the North Somerset area which we found most useful. I'm not sure if we would return to the cottage (as dogs are allowed) but I say if you don't mind stepping back in time, you'd like it.
