The Garden Flat and The Lookout are both tastefully decorated apartments situated peacefully in one of the most enviable locations in Torquay. Tucked away in an acre of gardens with open views across the valley to the sea, it’s easy to let yourself unwind. These holiday properties (refs: 29650 & 30587) are attached to the owner’s home but offer privacy and great views. A large decking area overlooks Ilsham Valley and is ideal for outdoor dining. Along with a private, covered patio area close to a koi pond, there are plenty of outside places in which to relax. A large part of the gardens is secure and allows pets to roam freely. Located on the boundary of Lincombe Woods, you’re also within walking distance to many wooded walks, meadows, the village shops and beaches, which includes arguably Torbay’s finest beach - Meadfoot. With its southerly outlook, blue waters and views, it deserves its reputation as one of the region’s best. The Apartments are a 5-minute drive to the marina, harbour and main shopping areas. Wellswood village itself is 5-minute woodland stroll away, and is one of the most charming areas of Torquay. Everything you need for day to day living is here including restaurants, cafés, a wine shop, post office and village pantry. The local dog-friendly pub is known for its excellent food, sunny beer garden and friendly atmosphere. The village is also the birthplace of crime writer Agatha Christie and home of the Gleneagles Hotel, which inspired John Cleese’s ’Fawlty Towers’. Finally, Kent’s Cavern Caves is one of Europe’s top prehistoric Stone Age caves. With an extensive labyrinth of spectacular caverns it’s an absolute must.
