The standard of the cottage made it one of the best I have ever stayed in. Liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners and local people. There was fantastic scenery and walks. I would be tempted to recommend this cottage to others, except that we want to return, and they are already booking up fast!

The cottage was in a lovely location, very tranquil and relaxing with mountains all around. An ideal base for walking from. The cottage itself was splendid - like a home from home - very comfortable, warm and cosy. It was very well equipped. The dog enjoyed it too, and dogs are allowed in the local Riverside Bar which does really good food. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in The Lake District.

The owner made us feel very welcome on our arrival. A touch was the fact that the cottage was decorated with fairy lights, complete with Christmas tree and assorted tasteful decorations around the cottage. Though the weather was, shall we say inclement! We all felt warm and cosy with a roaring fire. The views from all the windows were spectacular too. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we arrived home and re-booked for next year! If your looking for peace and tranquillity in a place that feels like home, you won't go far wrong with Nook Cottage.

Gorgeous cottage, good size bedrooms, very welcoming. Perfect location for walking, good that it accepts dogs as we took two. Lovely little garden out the front with a large supply of coal and a starter log pack. Lovely hamper upon arrival full of treats and fresh milk in the fridge. Tight getting the 2 cars in, but just enough room.

September 2013
They had thought of everything and we really enjoyed the bacon for our breakfast the first morning. Brilliant location and even better that dogs are allowed. A perfect walking holiday.
April 2013
the service was second to none, we received the loveliest welcome the cottage was clean with little extras everywhere. The only time we used the car was for shopping the rest of the time we were up and out for the day.We will remember Nook Cottage forever and we will return...fantastic
July 2013
A comfortable, well equipped cottage, with plenty of space, but the most important thing is the location. If you are a walker it simply doesn't get any better. Great circular walks from the door, and the reasonably frequent bus services mean linear expeditions over to Langdale, Thirlmere, Lorton, or Whinlatter are all possible. The cottage has an enclosed garden, which is unusual in the lakes, but really useful if you have dogs.
Mr Hutchinson
April 2016
Being located on a working farm was great. The cottage had loads of character and was comfortable. There were walks of all levels from the doorstep and we only got in the car once during the week. We loved the fire, all fuel was supplied. The owner was very friendly and helpful. A super week.
Ms Seward
