The cottage was absolutely beautiful, everything about it was lovely. It is very central to the village. We would certainly stay again. An absolute delight.

Oriel Cottage is thoughtfully designed with provision throughout the cottage. Very quiet (in December). Usefully near the shops. We liked the touch lights upstairs - very easy to use, magic! The bed was lovely.

We booked this cottage through a holiday company and were looking forward to switching off for a week. Overall the cottage was OK, but there are some issues that need to be taken into consideration or addressed by the Owner/Holiday Company to ensure a better stay. Below are what I believe are the good points and bad points (in no particular order) 1) Parking - yes there is a garage but unless you have a small car there is no way its going to fit. However there is room to park across the garages. Please be aware that the parking is down a narrow lane. 2) Access to the property is through a very tight 6ft wide entrance off the main road. 3) The shower screen was broken and unless held together floods the bathroom floor. Maintenance firm was informed on first day but we heard nothing. 4) Courtyard garden was filthy as was the outside furniture. It didn't look like it had been cleaned since last summer. Kurb appeal not great with many tall weeds growing in front of the property. 5) The bedding was very clean. 6) Washing Machine and Dishwasher very useful. 7) Excellent Broadband 8) Convenient for shops 9) Noise from shops - although the property is situated on a quiet lane, the actual property is about 10 meters from the main road and the local spar shop. Please be aware that the noise from the road and especially the deliveries to the Spar shop travel straight up the lane to the cottage. It is especially noisy in the morning if you have the windows open. We were woken many times at 5 am due to noise. 10) The mattresses on the beds were poor and springs were already being felt through them. 11) Plenty of wardrobe space 12) Bedrooms a bit cramped. 13) Well stocked kitchen 14) Excellent information pack with instructions on how to use all pieces of kit in the cottage. Not sure what seems to be happening with this accommodation as it has the potential to be great but it just doesn't seem to be getting maintained thoroughly.

Shower tray leaked. Toilet seat was loose - although the property had been very nicely recently refurbished and couldn't fault anything else internally. Made use of the washing machine. One of the mugs was cracked. Difficult to dry washing up as the worktop was wooden. Not even a tiny bit of washing up liquid supplied. Very noisy location. Deliveries to the corner shop at 6am every day for up to 2 hours, tail lift up and down, smashing the crates and stock trolleys in and out. Neighbour slamming van doors shut at about 4.45am most mornings. People making loud phone calls outside at around 3 or 3.30am (is this the only place with phone signal in St Agnes?). The directions need to point out that the access is for vehicles under 6ft wide. Camper vans would have a problem. My VW estate only just fitted, with extra care and patience from other drivers. Lovely cottage but terrible location if you want peace and quiet for your holiday.
