The house is in a beautiful setting with wonderful views and a short walk to the pub. Pendyffryn is well presented, comfortable and clean with everything we needed, including the log burning stoves which were wonderful on a wet evening. All six of us are lucky to live in lovely rural areas but were all impressed with our surroundings in Rhyd Ddu. Would certainly recommend it.

Upon arrival we loved the place, absolutely stunning views from the front of the property towards Yr Wyddfa and Yr Aran. The cottage was very well equipped for five of us plus a baby and a dog! The kitchen is excellent and having two bathrooms is really good. The lounge and dining room are also really good, log fires in each room is excellent - the big one in the lounge pumps out loads of heat! We would not hesitate to return and are hoping to book for early next year!

Lovely property in a great location.

This is an outstanding property. The house is large and big enough for six people and the cleanliness is really good. All the towels and bedding were of hotel quality. The garden is big and had little extras for children like ride-on trike and swing etc. Which we were not expecting but which proved invaluable in keeping the children happy! The view from the property is glorious and sitting in the garden overlooking the mountains is so relaxing. It is also an excellent base for walking or touring.

What a wonderful cottage! We have stayed in many different cottages and this was one of our favourites. Very comfortable and spacious with lovely, peaceful gardens. The views are stunning and being able to see the summit of Snowdon on a clear day from the bottom of the drive was a fantastic bonus. A great location amongst the mountains and not too far to drive to some great beaches. We would love to stay here again.

The location of the property was perfect for exploring the Snowdon area. The views from the property were excellent and the scenery stunning in general around the area. The property was very well appointed and pleasant to stay in. Highly recommended!

This is the second time we've stayed at Pendyffryn. The location is stunning and convenient, the facilities and standard of finish are excellent and the cottage is better equipped than any other we've stayed in.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Pendyffryn, the location was idyllic with fantastic views of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) and other peaks as well as of the lovely Welsh Mountain Railway which passed a couple of times day.We partook of the delights of the excellent Cwellyn Arms (within easy staggering distance).

The position of the cottage was excellent for us, the garden was great for our dog and the views from all the front rooms and the garden were brilliant. We loved the cottage and will come back again when we next visit Snowdonia!

We came to North Wales for the first time and to walk Mount Snowdon - the weekend was only enhanced by staying at such a wonderful property!

June 2014
We had a brilliant holiday. The setting was fantastic with the view of the mountain, lake and, best of all, the steam train. Personally I could have happily spent the whole week just in the garden as all the rhododendrons and azaleas were flowering and perfuming the air. And that wasn't all, there were many other interesting plants such as a handkerchief tree. There was an abundance of visiting wildlife including some very tame birds including woodpeckers who fed from the garden table as we sat next to it. The highlight was the voles that came out and shared our breakfast. A lovely property.

Fantastic house - excellently equipped which meant there was nothing to worry about and we could just enjoy the holiday. The owner was extremely helpful in response to queries - got back to us really quickly. The location of the house also fantastic - foot of Snowdon, beautiful views and set away from other houses (apart from adjacent house) so feels very secluded.

The house was a delight. It felt like home immediately, warm, cosy and very comfortable, with the added bonus of great food in the nearby pub and wonderful views of Snowdon. Hope to return some time.

February 2014
Wonderfully cosy cottage in a stunningly scenic location hidden away, yet in a great location for fantastic walks.
September 2014
As an expat of North Wales I wanted somewhere to bring the family to explore Snowdonia and to visit family on the coast in July 2014. We have used Sykes Cottages before and were very happy with their service and honesty! This is a lovely, really well equipped, house with direct views of Snowdon and Yr Aran from two of the three bedrooms. Five of us and two Labradors stayed there for a week. We loved it so much we're going back in October 2014! It is perfect for local walks and to scale Snowdon (without having to car and park). There's a marvellous pub / eatery within crawling distance. Rhyd Ddu has a Welsh Mountain Railway station about 300m away from the cottage.. On that you can get to Caernarfon or Porthmadoc and places in between. Everywhere you drive is beautiful in this area. To summarise, this is a marvellous place to chill or explore and the owners deserve a pat on the back for their attention to detail!
May 2014
very nice cottage ,stunning location and set in lovly gardens , ideal for dogs as garden enclosed, well laid out with everything you need ,the only downside is you have to supply the logs for burners!! we did do a deal with owner to supply logs at our cost!! apart from that a fantastic cottage ,we will return!!
Mrs Wilkinson
June 2016
A lovely house with a fantastic view. It is in close proximity to the Snowdon path and there were lots of things to do within a fairly short drive. Would definitely go back.
