Very clean, cosy and comfortable with a relaxing sitting out area. Nice walks right from the Cottage. It felt like a real home from home. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a truly relaxing break in a lovely Cottage to stay here.

Loved the cottage, it was beautifully decorated, absolutely spotless, very well equipped and in an excellent location. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area that we only scratched the surface so will definitely be returning.

Cottage was lovely and quirky and very clean, everything you needed was provided. Owner left loads of information about places to visit and local walks in the area, plus recommendations for local restaurants and pubs which was very helpful. Loads to do in the area, far more than what we expected. Locals were very friendly. Weather was fabulous too.

The cottage had everything we could need and was spotless, warm and comfortable. I did a lot of cooking, using great fresh produce from the local shops and farm shops, and was delighted to find every conceivable implement and pan was available. There were numerous walks from the cottage and fantastic places to visit within a short drive. The cottage had a good selection of maps, leaflets and books. We were serenaded at night with hooting Tawny Owls and even saw one sat in a tree close by.

Wonderful Kirkbymoorside was so well placed to explore the Yorkshire moors and the coastal areas. From The Pound it was so easy to walk into town and around the town. Neighbours were all helpful and the local people were friendly. Access to laundry in the cottage was invaluable.

Location of cottage providing easy access to surrounding areas.
March 2012
Well-resourced and comfortably fitted, warm and cosy, versatile accommodation in this delightful cottage. Kirby Moorside provided for all our needs - shops, pubs, delicatessan, and lots of nearby walks and places to visit. Kitchen is particularly well-fitted out. Really liked the quirky layout. This is a part of Yorkshire that I'd never visited before and I was pleasantly surprised. Not for the disabled though.

Quiet area - village itself tranquil but with enough shops and pubs to be practical and interesting. Some walks on the doorstep, easy access to many more walks and sites of interest. Cosy cottage with good facilities and equipment - gas cooker broadband connection.

Just back from a week in Pound Cottage, a lovely little place, so well appointed and close to so many interesting places.I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in N. Yorkshire. The town is friendly with good shops for all our daily needs. The White Swan is a joy for the real ale lover. The moors are a joy to wander over and at this time of the year Bempton Cliffs are well worth a visit. The local N.T. properties provide a shelter if the weather turns inclement.
