Lovely cottage in a great location, the owner was friendly and helpful.
Ms Williams
April 2016
The cottage was lovely and the owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The property was great - really well provisioned and very close to amazing walking routes. The owners said that they have put into the cottage all the things they wanted from years of staying in other people's cottages, and it shows. It really was lovely to stay there - I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Mr Hooker
February 2016
We liked everything about our holiday. Rickyard Cottage was peaceful and quiet and in a lovely location. The cottage was very good and the owners were very welcoming.
Mrs Evans
November 2015
It was quiet and peaceful with good comfort. The landlords were helpful but not obtrusive. The heating was on and it kept the place nice and cosy, as did the log burner when we used it. We will be using this cottage again.
Dr Stark
February 2016
It was very comfortable, warm and cosy, with a well equipped kitchen for people who want to cook for themselves rather than eat out. Loved the conservatory, especially in the rain. It was situated right underneath the Malvern Hills with lovely views and easy access to the Worcestershire Way which was 15 mins on foot.
Mrs Ball
April 2015
It was lovely to be able to wonder around the garden and orchard and see lambs from the conservatory window.
Mrs Fletcher
May 2015
Lovely warm welcome from the owners. Cottage had everything we needed and little extras such as a good collection of cooking utensils and a block of sharpened knives. Furniture was comfortable and conservatory a bonus. Good quality outside furniture (not plastic). Quiet place to stay and easy access to many other places to visit.
Mr Arbon

We had a great welcome - especially the best bottle of wine that I have tasted for a long time. Good peace and tranquility and in a central location making travel to various locations so easy. All in all we couldn't fault it and hope to come back next year.
Mrs Norman
October 2013
It was quiet and peaceful, and the cottage was warm when we wanted it to be. There was also plenty of hot water so all could have a shower/bath and the water was always hot.
Mr Connolly
December 2013
Wonderful location, delightful owners, very well-equipped cottage. Would return like a shot, but it appears that there are very few vacancies for 2014 - unsurprisingly!
Mr Futter
April 2014
The cottage was in a very peaceful location and perfect for walking in the Malvern Hills, it was also very comfortable and well equipped. We received a warm welcome from the owner and a lovely home made cake and an excellent bottle of locally produced wine!

The cottage was well equipped, plenty of useful information and instructions. It was lovely and warm with good quality furniture and good bedding, the wood fire was great. The garden was peaceful and spacious, my grandaughter loved everything - and the lambs. Loads of information provided about the area and places to visit. Wish we could have stayed longer.

July 2012
This cottage is one of our favourites. It is always clean and comfortable. The owners have high standards and do their best to make it welcoming. It is in a quiet area at the bottom of the Malvern hills. There is plenty to see and do around and about and it is a place we never tire of. Here's to next year!
Mr Whitlam
May 2012
The cottage was very cosy with a good central heating system and wood burner fire in the lounge, although we didn't need to use the wood burner. The property was very spacious and well equipped with plenty of cutlery, wine and other glasses and good quality pots and pans. Very beautiful and peaceful area. Excellent for those who like walking.
Mr Bell

April 2012
Great location. Very well equipped, private and quiet cottage. Lots of extras, great TV, walking maps, owners instructions, local wine and cake there to greet us. Castlemorton Common seemed like an undiscovered paradise! Great walks straight from cottage. A property for any time during the year!
Mr Brace
August 2011
Beautiful garden and setting.
Mr Kilpatrick
August 2011
The conservatory was a lovely room to relax in and enjoy the sun and the garden. The outside decked area was a lovely addition to the cottage, it was great that everything was on one level, and our kids loved walking from room to room. It was a lovely touch to receive cake, milk and wine from the owners. The leaflets in the cottage were very informative on things to do in the area.
Mr Connor
November 2011
The location was excellent with a lot of walking nearby. The owners made us feel very welcome and explained what was what within the cottage and area very well. Although to hand if needed they were not intrusive at all. The facilities the cottage had made it feel like a home from home, especially after a good days walking. The off road parking was really nice given that cattle and sheep had free movement around the local area. All in all a very nice place to go on holiday and chill out!
Mrs Osborne
June 2011
This is in a great location, with the hills within walking distance. The cottage is clean and comfortable; the welcome very friendly but not intrusive; and the garden is just beautiful.
Mrs Quinlan
June 2011
The setting in which the cottage stands is the most picturesque we have ever stayed in, the photos on the website do not do it justice! The conservatory was a real bonus and this led out on to a large decked area with good quality garden furniture. The cottage itself was just what we wanted with everything on one level, with lots of little extras left for us to use like kitchen towel roll, foil, cling-film and a pack of toilet rolls. The owners also left milk and wine in the fridge and a homemade cake, which was a very nice touch. It was such a nice change to have a good information pack with detailed info and lots about the local area, so often this pack is an after thought and very sparse with some out of date leaflets thrown in a drawer! Overall, a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with friendly owners and we hope to stay again in the future.
Mrs Street
May 2011
The cottage is a modern conversion set in lovely gardens and truly in the countryside. We had a really restful week and enjoyed outings to Gloucester and Worcester as well as walks in the stunning scenery of the Malvern Hills.
Mr Sewell
August 2010
Location was fantastic, plenty of peace and quiet, good for touring the area. Very much appreciated the milk in the fridge on arrival along with the cake and the Elgar white wine (which we bought some more of). Could easily have spent more time there just relaxing.
Mr Carter

September 2010
The cottage was a gem. The whole cottage was excellent with a high standard of decoration and fixtures and fittings. It is in a beautiful setting in a beautiful part of the country. The owners were very welcoming and had provided homemade cake, milk and wine. The gardens are very well maintained. We enjoyed it so much we are already planning our second visit. The Malvern Hills were almost on the door step.
Dr McWilliam
August 2010
Brilliant welcome by hosts - wine, milk, scones and home made jam. Helpful tour round property. Excellent folders of information. Cottage was equipped to a high standard. Wonderful garden and orchard beyond; views from conservatory and decking were beautiful. Very close to Malvern Hills; we were able to walk from the property most days. Easy accessibility to Gloucester, Tewkesbury and elsewhere.
Mrs Osborne
November 2010

Mr Bell

It was a lovely cottage in a beautiful location at a reasonable price. The owners were very welcoming and helpful on arrival, and then left us undisturbed to enjoy our time there. The only improvement would be to return without our teenage boys next time!

September 2009
The cottage was very centrally placed for visiting a broad area we had not been to before, and there was lots to see.
Ms Marshall
September 2009
That the property was in an unspoilt location. The owners were extremely pleasant and welcoming but they did not contact us during the week which was nice as we didn't feel they were checking up on us. They were very helpful and when we enquired about fishing in the area although they didn't know off hand they downloaded some information from the internet straight away. The small home touches really made the holiday feel hassle free.
Mrs Twort
June 2010
The cottage was lovely with accessible countryside literally on our doorstep. We were able to drive quite easily too. A peaceful retreat.
Mr Jagger
July 2009

A very peaceful location with cosy accommodation to a very high standard. Home from home and a great place to relax. Even with poor weather the holiday was a success because of the location and facilities at the cottage. Would like to go back when the weather is good, so I can use the great decking area in the garden!

November 2006
Without using the car there is good access directly from the cottage to the Malvern Hills. Good choice of small towns. Severn and Ledbury as well as GT Malvern easily reached.
December 2016
Rickyard Cottage is warm and welcoming and lives up to the billing on the Sykes website. Lying in the lee of the Malvern Hills, it's pretty isolated so a vehicle is essential, but the nearest pub is just a 15 minute stroll down a country lane. A well stocked shop and coffee house can be found in Welland about 1.5 miles away. The cottage's central heating is more than adequate, but there is a log burner too to add atmosphere. This is excellent walking country. Castlemorton Common, once infamous for an illegal rave, is just a couple of hundred yards from the cottage while the attractive towns of Ledbury and Great Malvern, with it's superb priory, excellent theatre and Morgan Car museum and shop are within a short car journey.
January 2014
I would say it was 10 out of 10 apart from the fact that there was rubbish left in the bin from the previous holidaymakers which was not at all welcoming and some of the crockery in the kitchen was not at all clean. It was very comfortable and roomy which was great for the 4 of us. There was plenty of hot water and heating which was lovely as it was a rather rainy week! Lovely location with lots of nice walks around. Lovely and peaceful and hardly any Mobile Phone reception which was bliss!! Log fire an added bonus!
Julie Clark
October 2012
Lovely stay at Rickyard Cottage. Owners were so welcoming. Holiday in the Malverns every year to see extended Family. Have a disabled son, so this cottage was unique and a most wonderful location for his needs. Very highly recommended this cottage, in this most tranquil area. Just a few days for relaxation or walking on the common/hills. Our case a 2 week stay...; ))
September 2012
This year is our third visit to Rickyard. The cottage is always clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. There is a bottle of wine in the fridge and a supply of tea, sugar and coffee to start the holiday off. The area is outstanding with lovely views. All in all it is a great place and one we will be going back to. I really do not have enough praise for Rickyard.
May 2013
A lovely, warm, homely cottage in a great location. Handy for exploring the Malvern Hills. Two pubs, both offering food, within walking distance. We had a very friendly welcome, (complete with milk in the fridge, lemon cake and a bottle of local wine!) from the owners who then left us in peace to enjoy our stay, but we knew they were around if we needed anything. Unfortunately, the weather was very unseasonal for Easter, so we were unable to take advantage of the (unheated) conservatory which had pleasant views of the orchard and hills (although the latter were mostly obscured by trees). We stay in a cottage every year for a week of the school Easter holidays, and have never yet returned to the same one twice. However, we have promised ourselves to return to this one, when the weather is better, so that we can enjoy the conservatory and further explore the area without snow on the ground! I was almost reluctant to leave a good review, because we'd like to keep this little gem to ourselves! :-)
September 2011
It was our second visit to Rickyard Cottage and we liked our holiday so much again that on returning home we immediately booked for 2012. The cottage had all that we required. It is located in an ideally at the bottom of the Malvern Hills, it is clean, quiet, well positioned for touring, and all in all everything we require. We can not wait for our holiday next year.
September 2011
superb location, garden, cottage. able to relax, explore locally and further afield. Vrey well appointed accommodation, exactly as advertised.
November 2010
A super location with plenty to see and do within a short distance regardless of age and we were all retired.
July 2010
A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Well equiped and very comfortable. Lovely area with easy access to a host of places and easy walking onto the Common from the cottage. We had a lovely week there and will return in the future.
June 2010
Lovely cottage with fantastic garden, nice hosts, good location if you like walking/hiking.
December 2009
Home from home comfort away from the stresses of everyday life. Easy access to Malvern and lovely countryside. Why would you not want to stay around here?
December 2009
We had a wonderful week in this cottage. It was clean and comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need. The location was perfect for us, the common is only a few minutes walk away, the Malvern's made for a lovely walk out from the cottage, as did Eastnor Castle. We found an excuse to stroll out in the evening to the very handy local pub, which also does food. There was also the best nightsky I have ever seen, just try lying out on the decking and looking for shooting stars. Magic!
