Rising Sun Coastal Cottage description

Holiday home
Rising Sun is an end-terraced cottage in the village of Christon Bank. This single-storey cottage has two double bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen diner and sitting room with woodburner. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a garden with furniture and BBQ. Rising Sun has the amenities of the village on the doorstep, and with the coast just a couple of miles away offering sandy beaches and historic castles, makes a wonderful year-round base.

Eight miles north of Northumberland's picturesque market town of Alnwick, likes the charming village of Christon Bank. Not only are Alnwick's beautiful castle and gardens close at hand, but visitors to the area are also only a mere two miles from the lovely bays at Embleton and Low Newton by the sea. These wonderful bays lay on a strip of unspoiled sandy beaches and are only a brief drive from the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and the other nature-rich Farne Islands. Set in the rolling hills, this lovely little village has a traditional, real ale pub, which also serves food, but for more variety of cuisine, the neighbouring villages also host a number of excellent restaurants. The Scottish Borders are within easy reach, as is the lively cosmopolitan city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

This cottage is superb for a small family. Lovely garden overlooking fields to relax in. Cottage is surprisingly large once you are inside. Very well equipped kitchen, we could not think of one piece of kitchen equipment which is not provided. Hopefully we will return.

A beautifully styled and comfortable house. Everything we needed was in the kitchen, there was plentiful hot water and a shower with good water pressure. The garden was immaculate and perfect for eating out, relaxing and watching the birds. A lovely spot for a base when touring the Northumberland coast.

The cottage was furnished comfortably for a family stay and had everything that we needed. It was larger than we anticipated and was only a mile from the exceptional coastline. The garden had space for the kids to run around in and the cottage and as a whole it was immaculately maintained. We would be back in a heartbeat.

It was a fantastic holiday and Rising Sun was a fabulous property as a base. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed. Despite being March the garden looked immaculate.
