Rose Bay Beach Cottage description

Holiday home
Five minutes walk from the long sandy beach at Winterton-on-Sea, Rose Bay is a wonderful holiday home on the coast of Norfolk, and has been decorated and furnished with style to offer a supremely comfortable holiday base. The rooms are very spacious, including a well-equipped kitchen, large conservatory and two bathrooms. There is a first floor family room with a double, single and en-suite WC, a first floor double, with two further doubles and a twin room on the ground floor. The garden is lawned with a patio area and furniture, great for relaxing on sunny evenings. The area is full of things to interest all ages, from the coastal resort of Great Yarmouth to country walks, museums, gardens and more.

A small village on the coast of Norfolk, Winterton-on-Sea is a great base for enjoying the benefits of a holiday in this part of Norfolk, but without the crowds of more commercial resorts. Winterton-on-Sea has a long unspoilt sandy beach, and a nature reserve which plays home to terns and toads. With pretty fishermans cottages, thatched roofs and a 12th century church, the village enjoys a completely different atmosphere to its more developed neighbour, Great Yarmouth, which is only eight miles along the road, allowing easy access to all its amenities, which include the Pleasure Beach, museums, markets and shops.

Picturesque rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways - East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers beaches, saltmarshes and quaint villages whilst equally as charming are the coast and countryside of Suffolk.

Oil central heating. Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 2 x TVs with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, books, games and DVDs. Fuel & power inc. in rent. We liked the amount of space there was in the bungalow and the fact there was everything you could need in a kitchen. There is a short walk to the sandy beach and such a pretty walk around the village.

The property was close to the beach, fish chip shop, shops and pub. There was plenty of room in Rose Bay for large families; we all enjoyed our stay in this lovely property.

Rose Bay is a beautifully decorated and positoned holiday bungalow with a fantastic lounge and conservatory. The kitchen is very well equipped and you can choose whether to eat in the dining room, lounge, conservatory or patio as they all have dining tables chairs! The bedrooms are all individually decorated to a high standard and plenty of towels are provided. The location is very near to the beach, local shop chippy which is well worth a visit. The beach is a long stretch of sand and dunes with no distractions other than a cafe.

Great size property, plenty of room. Beach was within easy walking distance as was the pub and local shop. The village church was attended on Christmas Eve by members of the party and were made to feel welcome. Great walks along the beach to see the seal colony.

This property catered for all our needs for both adults and children. The location was excellent for the beach. I had stayed here before with my friends and knew that it would be ideal for my family. It is a very clean, and high standard property with plenty of car parking. The local shops were very helpful and convenient, and I would have no hesitation in recommending people.

It was close to the beach. Plenty of off street parking. Spacious bungalow, homely, clean and a good place to stay. Heating very warm, in fact too warm, although we stayed in a milder week than normally at this time of year.

January 2012
Loved this house and didn't want to leave! Delighted with the unexpected touch of Christmas trees, decorations and Christmas crackers. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of work surfaces and cupboards, a pleasure to cook in. The size of the living room was fantastic, better than the photos. The central heating for the time of year was extremely efficient. Having two televisions was a bonus and loads of DVDs. The American fridge freezer with ice maker/crusher was a pleasure and fully utilized. So pleased there was a dishwasher. Glad to have the use of washing machine/tumble dryer, iron and vacuum etc. The double bedrooms were spacious and tastefully decorated. Tables and seating for our party of 10 adults was perfect. Local pub served excellent grub and very friendly staff, good friendly atmosphere.

The property is extremely spacious, clean and equipped to a high standard. It's located in a beautiful village with friendly people and the beach is within 5 minutes walking distance. There is also a superb fish chip shop within 2 minutes walking distance as well as a local amenities shop and pub. It has a real home from home feel. Great Yarmouth and other seaside resorts, along with places of interest, are only a short drive away. I will definitely be recommending it to friends and family and will be looking to rebook again for next year.

Rose Bay is very spacious and we felt the pictures did not do it justice. The location was excellent - walking distance to a lovely beach and to local amenities. A short drive took us to other interesting walks and activities. We appreciated the provision of tea, coffee milk etc.
December 2016
Stayed here for 13 nights, 11 people. Spent the first 24 hours cleaning & going out to buy things to replace items that were fit for the skip. Conservatory leaked when it rained, pillows were full of yellow stains, no pillow protectors, mould & rust in bathrooms, slim & rust on kettle, mattresses had springs pushing through, dust dirt & grime everywhere. Cobwebs that had been there so long they looked like snow. The entire kitchen equipment had to go through the dishwasher. Had this not been a family Christmas with 5 separate families coming we would of left without a doubt. Every single carpet was stained, we all kept our slippers on. Only positive was the size of property.
Mrs Swystun
September 2010
Beautifully presented property in an excellent location for anyone wanting a quiet holiday.
Mrs Glenister
June 2010

The holiday was perfect. Lovely little village with very friendly people. The cottage was beautiful with every little detail taken care of. We cannot fault it at all. We had a perfect time there and have already recommended it to all my friends. Thank you for all the information that was left in the cottage it was very helpful. Overall it was star quality!
December 2012
There were 5 adults and 2 children in our group. This bungalow was amazingly spacious but very homely, on a quiet street in a lovely village. 5 minutes walk to the beach and within easy reach of the other coastal spots, the broads as well. We all enjoyed it
July 2013
Great large accommodation for family get together. Outside space a little disappointing but beach in good walking distance. Pretty quiet village with great pub, lovely food.
September 2015
This is a really lovely cottage in a great location. I would recommend it to anybody. I would give it 5 stars only a few tiny things stopped me. Firstly there is no blind in the top bedroom so we had to try and hang a towel on a roof window every night which was a bit annoying. Also there weren't really enough single beds for our family. We were travelling with extended family and while yes there is sleeping space for 11 there were only 3 single beds so it meant some children had to share beds and 1 of the adults had to share a double with a child which means they didn't sleep very well. Also no wifi which is only a minor problem but it would've been nice considering the cost of the rental. These were only minor issues and everything else was really lovely. Especially the location, walking distance to a lovely beach. Had a really lovely time.
September 2011
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is stunning. The only negative I have about my stay is the fact that the boiler is installed in one of the ground floor bedrooms. It is not practical or healthy as there was water continually leaking from the boiler (my husband had to put a bucket in there) We did tell the landlord so I assume that problem will have been dealt with now. There is a premanent smell of oil coming from that cupboard and if you are sleeping in that room it becomes quite nauseous.
October 2011
Rose Bay Cottage offers a superb holiday accommodation. It is decorated and equiped to a very high standard, offering a home from home feel. It is large and spacious and can accommodate a family or group of people upto 11 with no problem. There is also ample off road parking and is situated in the idyllic village of Winterton on Sea, which is approximately 8 miles from Great Yarmouth and other seaside resorts. The cottage is approximately 2mins walk from the local corner shop/post office and fabulous fish & chip shop, and is about 5/10mins walk from the beach. All in all, Rose Bay Cottage offers a fantastic holiday retreat. My family and I had a fabulous time and we have already booked to go back again next year.
November 2010
This accomodation had all we required in terms of rooms and equipment with ample parking. Our party was 6 adults and 4 children aged between 10 years and 5 months We could walk to the local beach and was a great base for touring around Norfolk
November 2010
Perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable family holiday, Furniture fixtures and fittings were all a1. Thought long and hard about something to complain about but the only thing I can think of is the lack of a barbecue (We bought one & left it for others to enjoy).
