Sea View Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Sea View is a mid-terrace, three-storey cottage, situated close to the main high street in the tiny village of Greenodd. With enough accommodation to sleep up to five people in two bedrooms, this property features exposed beams, a snug sitting area and a well facilitated kitchen. To the rear of the property is a grassy garden with a patio; perfect for a spot of al fresco dining in the warm summer evenings. There is parking for up to two cars, although the local pub and shops are only a short walk away. An excellent holiday base, for friends and family alike.

Resting on the estuary of Carmel Sands within the Crake Valley is the small village of Greenodd. Set on the borders of the Lake District National Park, this 18th Century town was once a thriving shipbuilding centre and a significant commercial port, exporting locally quarried limestone, gunpowder and copper. Today, Greenodd is a quiet residential town that maintains much of its charm and contains a good selection of shops and a local pub, The Ship, which provides a visible link to the village's history. Just three miles away is the ancient market town of Ulverston, which is famous for its street markets and festivals as well as boasting a wide range of shops, pubs and leisure facilities. It is also home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world and is the birthplace of Stan Laurel. The stunning National Park is within easy reach, as are the towns of Coniston, Windermere and the beautiful Furness Coast with its golden beaches and good birdwatching opportunities.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Gas central heating with electric fire in sitting room. Gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, TV, DVD player, CD player etc. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Roadside parking for 2 cars. Lawned garden with patio area and garden furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops and pubs 1 min walk.

Nice, warm, cosy little cottage located suitably for access to the South Lakeland area. We used it as a base for walking found it ideal. Village has a little pub, couple of shops, a fish chip shop and there is a decent pub/restaurant within 5 mins drive of the property.
Mr Eaton

Sea View had friendly neighbours, was in a good location and there was a pleasant feel to cottage. There is a good separate garden area for relaxation.

The cottage was perfectly situated to explore the beautiful Lake District. It was a beautifully presented home which we could not fault. No problems at all with parking, we would defiantly consider coming back here again.

Our second visit, the cottage was as we remembered it - still the same very high standard. The bottle of wine and milk were very welcome - thank you. We will be back again.
Mrs Symons
October 2011
Everything provided - tea, coffee, sugar, plus pint milk and bottle of wine in fridge on arrival. We were an all adult party but if you have children it would be ideal with games and colouring books all provided in old fashioned school desks. There is a lovely deep old fashioned bath which is great after a days walking. An old cottage but very tastefully updated and ideally located south end of the lakes just off main road.
Miss Skelhorn
October 2011
Great location. As you step out of the cottage you have access to a range of walks, both coastal and hill, as well as being short drives from more commercial places like Conniston/Windermere. Great shower and great kitchen/diner space for a cottage. Very tasty fish and chips at the end of the road too. Pub is within stumbling distance.
Mr Clarke
June 2011
The cottage was lovely and clean with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Parking was never a problem outside the cottage. The location was excellent for walking and exploring the area.

We were delighted with the overall standard of Sea View - it couldn't really be faulted in any department. We would like to compliment our hosts for a very friendly welcome and the overall standard of their cottage. We found this to be up amongst the best self catering accommodation we have experienced.

Great walks just from the door of the property. The lounge was very cosy and the kitchen was big and spacious. A lovely little village, because it was very close to the estuary and not far from other little villages and lake. One of the best holidays we have been on.
Mr Dix

A good base to travel by car to the Lakes. It was only a short walk to the estuary, where we could let the dog off the lead. There was a good, friendly pub called The Ship Inn, which had good food at night.

December 2009
We had a lovely stay in Cumbria and the accomadtion ticked all the boxes for us. We were welcomed with Chilled wine in the fridge, sweets for the children, and other extras that were very useful. The cottage came equiped with everything we would need from washing up liquid to highchairs which with 3 young children made packing a lot easier! The owners have put a lot of thought into making this cottage a really comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
Mr Mrs Brittle
September 2007
The area is rich in natural beauties and has much to offer the family. We would be pleased to rent this property again.
August 2011
Sea View cottage was clean and had everything needed to relax. The owners are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The only thing to make this totally complete would be a washing machine. Parking was never an issue and directly outside the cottage. Excellent location and with the Estuary close by great for walking the dog. Locals really friendly and made us feel welcome.
April 2012
lovely cottage for stay in the south of the lakes, has all you need and is warm and comfortable
December 2009
Just a few lines to say that we stayed here in June, were very lucky to have the best weather of the year and thought the cottage was great. A good local pub, excellent fish & chips on the doorstep and a real character cottage! There's no sea view though, times have changed in Greenodd! this didn't bother us at all but if you really do need a sea view then look elsewhere. Otherwise, I can't fault the place.
Mrs Chew
August 2007
We had a wonderful time and the property was immaculate! Everything was catered for and we were also left a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. They also thought of our children and there were lots of colouring in things and games and our three wee ones loved that so thanks for that too! Really couldn't fault the cottage at all, was really impressed with the bedrooms as they were so clean and fresh.
Mr Pate
June 2007
Cottage was ideal for us. There was sufficient room for 2 plus dog. There was a walk from outside the back door taking us across the river by footbridge to a large varied area where all the local dog owners go. It was close enough to the Southern Lake District to enable us to easily explore different areas each day. Altogether an excellent cottage.
Mr Drake
April 2007
A friendly welcome. Lots of thoughtful extras. Good location for the Lake District.
Mrs Postlethwaite
August 2006
Lovely cottage. Excellent location and accessible to all.
Mr Drake
August 2006
The clean tidy and thoughtful layout of the cottage. The extra little touches that the owners had added that you would not normally expect. The friendliness of the owners and all others in the village who were interested in who was in the cottage that week, offered advice on where to eat and where to visit. This was a cut above most holidays you would expect.
The Scotts
December 2009
House is lovely, very clean, everything you need is there. The only draw back is the amount of stairs, not recommended for the elderly. It is ideally placed for touring the lake district. Would definately rent again.
December 2009
On the whole the house was imaculate and a lot of thouhgt had gone into making our stay enjoyable. The only down side was the lack of outside space. The garden was situated across a path and was over looked. The seating in the living room was clean but not that comfortable. Would use this holiday home again.
