We have stayed here before and enjoyed it, which is why we booked again. We have also recommended it to friends. Easy pedestrian access to Whitby on the cinder track.

Shalom was next to the river Esk in a pretty and quiet area next to a spectacular viaduct. We could walk (or cycle) on the viaduct to Whitby in 15 minutes or go the other way out into the country towards Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough. You could see Whitby Abbey framed in the arches of the viaduct. We were able to watch the steam trains as they went along on the far side of the river. There were a lot of birds, ducks and rabbits around the house! Whitby is a great seaside town it oozes atmosphere.

The property was very well situated. Whitby is accessible via a cinder path and is a very pleasant walk. The cottage was lovely and warm, and plenty of space. I cannot fault anything about the holiday.

Great location, within easy walking distance to Whitby. Peaceful surroundings and well equipped cottage. Would return and recommend to others.
April 2015
The property and location would have been great if it had been clean. The property has not had a good clean for a long time.
November 2014
Wonderful next to the viaduct, the railway on the other side of the river, lovely sitting on the balcony. Easy visiting areas around Whitby.
August 2014
This house was in a lovely location near the river next to an impressive viaduct along which we could walk into Whitby with great views. The house is at the top of the hill backing onto the viaduct. Lots of rabbits, ducks and birds. Steam trains passing down valley on the other side of the river. Perfect place to stay if you want to be near Whitby but want somewhere peaceful.
