Ballinskelligs is a village in the south-west of the Iveragh peninsula in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) region of County Kerry. The Skellig rocks form a spectacular sight from the Ballinskellig coast. The rocks in question are Skellig Michael and Little Skellig, an ancient monastic colony which lies off the coast from Ballinskellings. The village of Ballinskelligs also has an attractive beach and the ruins of a priory of Augustinians, now in ruins and the remains of a Mac Carthy castle.
Skellig Cottages are located in Dungegan, on the magnificent Skellig Ring between Waterville & Valentia Island. Wild rugged coastlines, scattered islands, vast mountains & high passes, this Gaeltacht, Gaelic speaking (also English speaking) region, will leave you longing to come back again.
The cottages are adjacent to many tourist attractions, namely, Skellig Michael, Valentia Island, Derrynane, Kilreelig Arts Centre & Kerry Way Walks not to mention the many beautiful lakes that grace the landscape.
The Blue Flag beach at Ballinskelligs is less than a mile from the cottages & the well known Tigh Rosie is less than half a mile, as is the local shop, from the cottage.
