The lodge itself is a lovely building but it needs a complete deep clean. It is tired and shabby. There are many light bulbs not working, the chandelier in the main bedroom is absolutely filthy any one with asthma beware I have never seen so much dust. The cupboards are missing handles, doors, broken shelves and the ensuing shower is something else. The are no hooks to hange clothes or towels, the the toilet roll holders fall off the wall but the worst was the shower head was partially clogged with limescale, the pipe leading to the shower head was covered in dust and the metal shampoo /soap holder is absolutely filtly with black rust. It really is horrible and because of this I opted to have baths. The blind in the bathroom does not pull down and if you try the window frame is loose. The plug does not fit and to stop
the water running away I had to keep my foot on it, but then to empty I had to lever it out with a spoon. The floors in both shower and bathroom were dirty. The general floor in the lodge needed to be polished as the vanish had worn off. There is a purple rug as you enter the cabin and again this was muddy. I know it is meant to be a working farm but at least start with a clean rug. The high bar stool is broken but this is not apparent until you go to sit on it.
We could not get any internet although it is offered, when logging on the message shows as no signal. There was not a welcome pack, we had not idea where doctors, buses, take aways etc were and we couldn't google them because no internet! I feel for the amount we paid and at the beginning of season the standard of the lodge is well below par. It is a shame because it is in a beautiful area but even that cannot make up for the condition if the place. I hate writing bad reviews but sometimes needs must
