Good spacious and clean accommodation including modern laundry facilities. It was a pleasure to come back to after being out all day. The village was just what we wanted with a great atmosphere; friendly locals and excellent facilities. Well positioned for exploring the coast and countryside either by foot or in the car.

We have just returned from this property. This is beyond doubt the dirtiest holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. There was food on the dining room table. Thick dust and dirt on the radiators, doors and floor. The chairs in the lounge were covered with dust and hairs. We couldn't sit on them. When it rained water was coming in through the bathroom plastic roof and dripping into the light. The bath towels smelt damp. We went out and bought ourselves some new ones. Beer is a beautiful place with some lovely restaurants and really friendly local people so please dont let this accommodation put you off.

Simply put this holiday cottage is not fit for purpose which is a shame as it has great potential. We counted five missing or broken light bulbs and the security of the place was shocking. The general feel of the place was shoddy with an extremely poor finish to it. The lounge area was filthy with an armchair that felt greasy to the touch. The sofa was tiny, uncomfortable and dirty. We had to wash the blanket covering it as it was smelly and covered in hairs. None of the furniture matched and some of it in a poor state of repair. The kitchen area was revolting with food and coffee debris covering one work surface and food had been left by previous guests in both the fridge and freezer. A broken pedal bin sat in the corner and was full to the brim with rubbish. Needless to say we didn't use this room once for preparing food and chose to eat out instead. The bedroom and bathroom were no better and both felt grubby and needed us to clean them before use. All in all an extremely disappointing stay.

Was disappointed with starre barn the lack of cleanliness the bedroom wasn't too bad the kitchen wasn't very clean the microwave wobbles it is not on the stand properly and could be dangerous the door in the bedroom goes into a store room you are told in the information from the owners that it is only to be used in case of fire well the outside door was locked from the outside with a big bolt so you had no chance of getting out and it was full of paint pots and other junk the bath room leaked from the toilet and water was coming up from the tiles the settee and chair wasn't very clean and the rug was turned over to the back when we had a look it was dirty and stained the rug at the front door was falling to bits too washed the bedding and all the pots before we used them and bleached the work tops

Stare Barn, lovely position, could be an excellent let but lacks cleanliness. Bathroom, leaking toilet, not clean, good shower. Bedroom ok but has an outside door into the room.Kitchen, nothing to light the gas cooker with, only two small saucepans ,freezer drawers wouldn't open, frozen shut. States garden but the garden is for the house, barn has patio.very small TV not comfortable dining, settee low and a thin large rug on the floor, dangerous . No instructions for any of the appliances.

Our favourite spot in Devon a lovely tranquil cottage holiday, very comfortable equipped with all you need in this cosy Starre barn. We bring our dog Archie and it's ideal for him to sleep in the long heated hallway. The internet connection has been improved and was good enough to enable me to dial in to my London office via laptop To do some essential work. We cooked some local fish and enjoyed our walks into Branscombe and also Seaton. We have booked again for later in the year.

Choosing Starre Barn for Mr M's birthday treat was a brilliant thing to do. We loved just about everything to do with the barn. It was warm and inviting when we arrived - and we arrived on what is probably going to be one of the worst days of the year. The wind was howling the rain was coming down in stair-rods. None of that mattered when we had a cuppa and were sitting in the lovely sitting room all snug and warm. The shower room is lovely, the kitchen is huge - well huge compared to mine, and if I had to find something to complain about it would be the step up into each room from the hall. Mr M has worn out knees and he found the step up and down a bit painful. The bed was sooo comfortable. The only downside for this internet junky was the difficulty with the wifi. When I first tried to connect there were five, yes that's right five different options and nowhere in the instructions on the shelf did it specifically say which BT thingy was the one to try and connect to. I gave up and decided to ring the number provided to get help but had to wait until the next day because it was so late in the evening. Of course I forgot the next day until it was once again to late to ring and so it went on through the week. So could they write down the exact name of the provider that will be shown on the screen when you try for wifi

A lovely, well equipped and comfortable cottage set in a seaside village. An ideal place to stay if you like seafood of the best quality. Would recommend it.

Lovely little place to stay. Great for being right in the centre of Beer. Great access to the beach and the coastal walks. Fantastic for the dog as well. Thank you!
