Set atop sweeping cliffs on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula, the pretty coastal town of Nefyn also features a glorious two mile stretch of sandy beach which makes it an excellent location for a family holiday. With a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, this lovely little coastal village has everything you could possibly need for a quiet, relaxing vacation. Nearby are the towns of Pwllheli and Abersoch which also offer a number of amenities and make excellent spots for days trips. Further down the coast visitors can find a variety of castles and coves and numerous facilities for sailing and water sports. Just 25 miles away is the Snowdonia National Park, which offers a wide array of walks through beautiful countryside, as well as excellent bird-watching opportunities.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Note: The second floor is accessed by a narrow, open tread spiral staircase, and there is a step down on the first floor landing - children to be supervised. Note: Both twin bedrooms have a sloping ceiling with reduced head height to sides.

Parking easy for 2 cars. Cottage is comfortable, didn't want to go home. Quiet, peaceful village but central to all other places. Beautiful views from the lounge. Well equipped.

This property is one of the nicest we have stayed in on the Peninsula. It is superbly equipped, and everything worked. The accommodation was spacious and light. The mountain views from the large sitting room are splendid. The beds were very comfortable, with nice linen. The home has a modern interior with stylish furnishings throughout. We would definitely return again, the sooner the better!

The house was lovely and particularly well equipped with pots/ pans etc. Loads of crockery, which is really good when you have a dishwasher. Close to beautiful beaches. Loved the space and the fact that it was well equipped for the maximum number of people.

We stayed here for a week in August. Spectacular views from the living/dining room. It is a very well equipped house. Plenty of room for the 6 of us (2 adults & 4 children) the kids loved the spiral staircase and having the top floor all to themselves, which had bean bags and their own tv with lots of dvds to chose from. There were board games also. We found this an excellent base for our holiday. With Parking and also a BBQ area. We could walk to the beach. The large kitchen was well equipped and I loved having a dishwasher with the 6 of us there. Bathroom was lovely, in fact the whole house was well presented and very clean. Loved having tea, coffee and milk for when we arrived.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tan Y Bracty. It was the best equipped accommodation I've ever stayed in. The courtyard was really lovely and the gas bbq was superb. The cottage is just across the road from the coastal path route and we enjoyed many walks from straight outside the door.

Home from home, a very comfortable property with beautiful views and the bonus of being close to some stunning sandy beaches. The property was very clean and tidy on arrival and I had spoken to the owner prior who was very friendly and helpful and had ensured there were plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk on our arrival which after a very long drive was very much appreciated. The property was very easy to find and is located on the main route into the village. Parking is provided and located to the rear of the property for one car. We had 2 cars and at times found it difficult to park outside the front of the property but it was the Bank holiday long weekend. To the right of the property there is a gate which provided access to a secure large patio area with table, chairs and a gas fired BBQ, which was a very nice touch. Inside the property it is constructed on 3 levels, the ground floor giving access with a large entrance space which then leads to a staircase. This then enters onto the main hallway (1st floor) which provides access to the double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living combined dining room. On this level there is also a spiral staircase which leads onto the 2rd floor which in turn provided access to a snug area with 3 very comfortable large bean bags and a TV which was a perfect games room for my children. This in tern provided access to the bedrooms 2 and 3 which both continued 2 single beds. One thing I would say is that if anyone has mobility issues or very young children they will find the spiral stairs challenging. The local beach is 5 to 10 minutes walk, and provides stunning views, plus has is a dog friendly area. There is a car park but this is very small and only has around 15 spaces. The access leading to it has no parking during the summer months. There are 2 local shops, one being a very well stocked Spar. But for the larger shop you can drive to Pwilheli which has an ASDA and other major stores. The only thing missing in my view was Wi-Fi. Due to its location the mobile phone reception is very poor and has no 4 G and for those who have teenagers who are stuck to the internet be warned. We really did enjoy our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this property to our family and friends :-)

We loved the views from the sitting room, the space and well appointedness (new word alert) of the kitchen and bathroom and the proximity of all of Nefyn's many charms. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and spacious. Whilst we did have the opportunity to put the patio/BBQ area to good use, it is a brilliant addition! We would have liked to have wifi and a cafitiere, but aside from that, thoroughly enjoyed the place and would happily recommend to friends and family/stay there again.

Really well equipped accommodation, spotlessly clean, with quality furnishings.Close enough to walk to beach shops etc. You won't be disappointed with this one. Excellent value for money. Owner extremely helpful when contacted re directions and other little queries.

Accessed from the original front door, the apartment has a living/dining room on the first floor along with the kitchen, bathroom/WC and main double bedroom which has a large built-in wardrobe with ample hangers, an iron and ironing board is also in this wardrobe. A spiral staircase rises from the first floor landing to a 'junior chill out space' complete with beanbags, TV and DVD. From each end of this central area is a twin bedroom. These rooms in what was the loft all have sloped ceilings and in hot weather are very warm. There is no hanging space for clothes in these rooms. The bathroom is bright and modern with tile floor and walls. An electric shower is over the bath. The good size kitchen is also bright and modern with all the usual appliances including microwave, electric oven and hob, washer/dryer and dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The main room has a lovely parquet floor and huge windows which give a superb view of the Maritime museum housed in an old church and the hills beyond. A large screen television can be viewed from the large comfortable corner sofa which seats 6 with ease. The sofa is not the one currently shown on the agents web page. A large oak table and 6 chairs provides dining facilities. To the side of the house, accessed via a wooden gateway is a smashing little sunken patio complete with gas barbecue and table with 6 chairs. Parking space for one car is at the back of the property in front of a garage door and next to the front door of the ground floor apartment which does not appear to be a holiday let. So, why the 'but'? There was no information booklet or visitor book and consequently no information as to local amenities such as shops, doctor etc. or when and where to put out the bins/recycling box. There were 2 green bins on the street and another out by the car which we assumed was for the downstairs apartment. A recycling bin is just inside the front gate, but no info. as to what to put in it. Not everywhere recycles everything. The entrance hall smelt very strongly of what we assumed to be wet dog. It had lessened by the end of the week but was still pretty unpleasant. I must say we had no problem with the overall cleanliness of the property other than this. The spiral staircase is mentioned as a possible hazard in the booking info but be aware that it does obstruct part of the landing and headroom at the top is quite limited. Children definitely require supervision as is also mentioned. The booking info claims that it is a 3 minute walk to the beach but even for a very fit person I doubt it could be done in much under 15 minutes whichever route you take. If there is a quicker route we couldn't find it. Blessed with good weather we did have a lovely holiday enjoying Nefyn's fabulous beach, but other than the little Maritime Museum which is well worth a short visit there's really nothing else there. The street on which the house stands is spoilt by the inevitable car parking, wheelie bins and a lack of virtually any pavement to walk on. The Coastal Path goes off just opposite the property but watch your feet - it seems that very few dog owners bother to clear up despite the numerous notices though some do leave the mess in the plastic bag which at least makes it easier to spot.(!) A nice apartment but just enough problems for me not to recommend to a friend. Silly as it may seem, the usual book of information as to facilities and where things are would have made such a difference. The addition of a visitors book allows for information to be passed on not just to owners but to fellow tenants.
