Tegfan Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Tegfan is a mid-terraced cottage in the village of Llan Ffestiniog. There is a king-size double room and a smaller double too. There is a shower room on the ground floor, along with a kitchen, and a sitting room with dining area and woodburner. Outside is roadside parking, a front patio, and a rear garden with lawn, patio and furniture. With the Snowdonia National Park, beautiful coastline, NT properties and historic castles all within easy reach, Tegfan is an ideal base for a couple or set of friends to explore this lovely part of North Wales.

Situated close to the impressive Manod and Moelwyn Mountains is the old slate quarrying village of Llan Ffestiniog which is set against the stunning backdrop of the Snowdonia National Park. The nearby town of Blaenau Ffestiniog was once the capital for the world's slate mining industry and was often referred to as the 'City of Slate' during the 18th Century. Nowadays, the town has a number of excellent shops and restaurants and is a fascinating place to visit. The surrounding area also offers a number of excellent activities such as the famous Ffestiniog Railway and the Llechwedd Slate Cavern, as well as countless walking and cycling routes. There are also excellent local facilities for fishing and golfing in addition to numerous sandy beaches and centre for water sports.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Electric storage heaters with underfloor heating downstairs and woodburner in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, selection of DVDs. Power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. A lovely cottage with spectacular views from the garden and front door. It was very clean and warm. Beautiful walks and an abundance of waterfalls and pretty rivers all close by. There was a small shop around the corner and a large amount of fuel left for our first evening.

This was such a lovely place to come back to after a day out; there were comfy sofas and a fire and the underfloor heating was amazing. The place had everything we needed. It was a nice village and close to lots of great places. We were so pleased with our choice to stay there.

We love visiting Wales, the mountains and the beaches are so beautiful. The property was brilliantly situated for access to all the main roads leading to the main towns, nothing was too far to visit. The house was cosy and comfortable, the king-size bed in particular was very comfortable. The garden was cute and had a lovely view of the hills, the owner was very helpful and friendly. The house was really clean with lots of books, pictures and lamps.

Stunning scenery and coastline. Simply not enough time to properly explore. We discovered Conwy Brewery's 'Glogwen Gold'!

Location, good roads to the property. Everything I needed for good holiday was there. One of the best holiday accommodations I stayed for a reasonable price.

Good walking and returning to a really cosy cottage. Chilling in front of a roaring log fire after a long day walking was fantastic. Just a shame we couldn't stay longer. Absolutely Fabulous!

A very well arranged cottage and furnished to a high standard. I was particularly impressed with the range of books and DVDs provided if the weather was inclement.

On first arrival the cottage appeared clean ,tidy and very presentable with lovely views. There is some maintenance to the property that needs serious attention ie one slate floor tile in the kitchen is so badly damaged you could quite easily cut your foot, the mattress in the back bedroom is appalling you can feel the springs poking through. The front bedroom ceiling has stains and paint starting to peel also the carpet needs a good clean, broken wardrobe mirror that had been cellotaped for a repair,a ripped stained lampshade in the lounge, the bottom of the shower door guide was filthy,a couple of light switches crackled when used and at the end of the vacation an email was sent to us from the letting agent mistakingly which was meant for the property owners stating the garden gate had been damaged during our visit which was not done by us..A nice cottage in a lovely quiet area but needs money spent on it.

We turned up as two couples with dogs in two cars, difficult to park as the only place is outside the property on the road. Clean and tidy. The whole place could do with a good referb'. Tall lamp cover all rotten and ripped, curtains had water stains, lack of sharp knives, decking at the rear very dangerous when wet, garden a bit too overgrown, TV was really tiny with only half a dozen channels. No phone signal (not their fault) BUT no WiFi (ridiculous). All this you could live with if you had a decent nights sleep, no chance in the back room, the mattress was disgusting, stains, springs coming through and so warn my wife almost fell out because it was so wonky. We bought a blow up camping mattress after the second night because we were crippled. A half decent sleep after that. A shame because this property was well located and just needs some money being spent on it, it was not cheap either.

Wonderful little house. Cosy and warm to come back to after a day walking in the hills. Cute garden with wonderful view of mountains. We and our dachshund loved the week at Tegfan.

August 2015
Stayed here for an extended weekend in Wales and the cottage was lovely. Lots of character, amazing view from the back, great garden and plenty of facilities provided in the cottage. The cottage was used as a base to mountain bike at Penmachno and the not so local Bike Park Wales plus visit local attractions such as Blaenau Ffestiniog, Zipworld, and Bounce Below. It's been a cracking trip and I wouldn't hesitate at recommending this cottage or booking it again.
