As it was, it was perfect - the location was isolated enough for peace and quiet, The Barn is well equipped and the owner superb at receiving us. Wouldn't ae asked for anything more!

The Barn was a lovely base to explore the area from. The cottage was very comfortable with lots of nice touches to make you feel at home. The views were stunning. This was our first holiday with our dog. The owners had thought of everything including lots of information about local walks and amenities.

The Barn was in a great location with great views from the windows. The standard of cleanliness was second to none. The owner could not have been more helpful and we would recommend it to anyone. The area itself was wonderful and luckily we had great weather.

The position of the property. It has great views from the lounge and is conveniently located for several areas of the Lake District.

Loved staying at The Barn, it is a little piece of heaven. The views from the living room and the bedrooms are stunning, overlooking Lowick, and in the distance Coniston and the Old Man. The owners were lovely to us and brought some basic supplies and helped us with car rental information. The walks around the property are beautiful, especially Lowick Beacon. We ended up walking over 20km from The Barn on Easter Sunday! We would definitely come back.

Lovely setting and the cottage had everything we needed, even with a baby. The attention to detail and the desire to make our stay as enjoyable as possible was above what we have ever experienced before.

Stayed here for a week in September. Lovely cottage and great base for the South Lakes area. The cottage has a large kitchen/diner which is incredibly well equipped, the owners really have thought of everything, cozy bedroom and first floor living room with the most amazing views. Great info folder too with details of local walks. Only negative point is the small fridge, we like to cook and it was a struggle fitting everything in though there is a pantry. We would definitely book again.

Fantastic views from 1st floor lounge. Owner very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Very nice to have a large folder of things to do and see with basket full of tourist leaflets and walking maps. Cody our dog loved it!!

We stayed the week before Christmas. The accommodation is lovely and warm with stunning views. It was great value for money and the owner was really good to us. You can see the coniston fells from the master bedroom and nice undulating hills from the front room. All the lakes attractions easily accessible from the barn but far away enough from busy spots. Situated up a lane of the main road so no through traffic. Woods and hills all around too. A few pubs just down the road too. Would recommend.

This is a comfortable cottage in an ekevated position giving Great views, it has all the facilities/equipment needed for a family of four. The open fire is great but when we stayed the draft control was not working. It Tolerates dogs rather than welcoming them (not allowed into lounge)

We hadn't stayed in the southern lakes before and we weren't disappointed. The cottage was easy to find by car, tucked up a little lane near the village of Lowick Green. The cottage offered wonderful views and if you make the short walk up the bridle way to Lowick Beacon you are rewarded with a wonderful panorama showing 'Coniston Old Man' to the north and the coast to the south. The location was ideal, surrounded by countryside and a wooded area to the rear. The cottage was warm and cosy with a real fire in the upstairs living room. The beds were comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. There is a large kitchen and dining area to make use of and the neighbours next door were welcoming and chatty. We didn't come to the lakes to 'stay in' and browse the internet so didn't mind the lack of wifi. Although we did find that the 3G signal was good enough for mobile browsing on our phones. All in all I would recommend this cottage for a quick relaxing getaway or a family holiday
