This 19th Century former coach house in the village of Lowick has been lovingly and carefully converted to give a high standard of accommodation. The property is spacious and welcoming, the living room has a wood burning stove, and provides spacious, open-plan accommodation with a well-appointed kitchen and dining area. We spent a week in the cottage with 4 adults and 2 kids aged 10. The cottage offered plenty of space for all of us and there is a real choice of sitting areas. I wish our kitchen was as well equipped as the one in the cottage. We spent a perfect week there and there is simply nothing we can complain about.

The cottage was spacious and superbly equipped. It clearly reflected a high level of care, attention and creativity from its owners. We felt thoroughly at home in it - it felt like a home! Even though we experienced a week of sea-mist and no sun-shine, the coastal walks and the cottage to return to were more than enough to ensure a brilliant holiday. We have now booked for a second stay next year at a different time of year.

May 2013
We particularly liked the very high standard of furnishings and well thought out design and decor of this cottage. Everything was of the highest standard and quality. We felt as if the owners of this accommodation really cared about the type of holiday that people staying here would have. The welcome pack was lovely and included everything needed to settle in for the first day. We had mixed weather which meant that some evenings we could sit in the lovely garden, some evenings we needed to light the woodburner, very user friendly with dry logs on hand. Very stress free and relaxing. Lovely comfortable bed with soft warm bedding. Excellent shower. Well situated to explore the coast and castles. Lindisfarne Island something special and well worth a trip. The little local shop five minutes walk away provided day to day papers, milk and other bits and bobs. Lovely friendly people around and about.

Fantastically well-equipped house. A sense of generosity and trust was conveyed by the welcome pack and the quality of the equipment and furnishings, as well as the heating and hot water. Lowick is a beautiful village perfectly placed for sight seeing , walking and overall relaxation. April 2014
Beautiful Coach House, excellent for a family, not so much for a couple, as to much waisted beautiful space. Easy access to local villages, try Wooler (had the best steak EVER from Johnsons butchers) The coach house has charm and warmth and everything anyone would need. With an amazing welcome pack of bacon, eggs, milk, bread, butter and a bottle of wine. The wood burner is amazing. Just a a beautiful place with amazing surroundings.
October 2013
We had a super week in Lowick, really convenient for the local tourist attractions. The cottage is superbly decorated and furnished, and was really comfy. It was great to have two bathrooms and the welcome pack was much appreciated. The BBQ got some use as well as the Black Bull Inn over the road! I would recommend this cottage to anyone.
November 2012
The Coach House was definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in, and we have stayed in quite a few over the years. There is very little the owners haven't thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible and a much appreciated welcome pack was there on our arrival. We loved the garden room and during the summer months it would compliment the garden patio wonderfully. Kitchen excellent with everything you need (non-stick frying pan would be good though) along with comfy beds for a good nights sleep. The on-suite bedroom on the ground floor was lovely with a great walk in shower and made my wife and I feel we were staying in a bungalow. Peaceful village location, which had a great community spirit (haloween witches decorating the main street during our stay). Couple of minor gripes...didn't care much for the dull throws on lounge sofas and a wee bit of painting needs to be done on woodwork above the upstairs bath in particular. All in all...a lovely place for a great holiday.
September 2012
This cottage ticked all the boxes. Excellent welcome pack, comfy bed and all mod cons. It was great to have a dishwasher and Sky TV including sport (my husband thought this was wonderful). The location is perfect for visiting Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Alnick. We are all castled out! We would thoroughly recommend this lovely place to anybody.
December 2011
A most enjoyable stay. The cottage was perfect in every way. The welcome pack was one of the best we have received. The location was quiet and tranquil, perfect to get away from it all, but well situated to visit all the tourist places. The owners made sure we were settled in but then left us alone.
December 2011
The Coach House is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in it was very comfortable clean and well equiped. The owner welcomed us with a fantastic welcome basket which we were very grateful for because our Tesco online delivery with all our provisions for the week did not turn up until the following afternoon. We have visited northumbria before but still found lots to do.
September 2012
Quality accomadation, with a lovely welcome basket of goodies.Met by owner, with offer of assistance at any time if needed. Local amenities very good and varied, suitable for adults and children, especially the miniature train, very close by.Good food and atmosphere at local pub, and very helpful local shop/tea rooms. Highly recommended!
May 2011
The house was well equipped and spotlessly clean and the owners very friendly. The welcome pack was outstanding. The area was very varied and interesting.
August 2011
Comfortable, well equiped, plenty of space, dog friendly, extensive welcome pack. Only complaints, wish we had had a cleaning service after a week, clean towels, sheets etc and refreshment of basics. Also recognise that external maintenance needs to be done, but wished we had been warned that painter would be peering through bathroom window.
November 2010
Home from home, everything we needed was there ,and more.Perfect.
December 2009
An excellent cottage. We loved the character of the cottage mixed with an excellent standard of facilities; lovley bathrooms and kitchen. The big open plan space made it ideal for a family holiday. Very reasonably priced for the standard of accomodation. Would recommend to anyone!
December 2009
From the moment we entered the door we knew our stay was going to be 5*. The cottage was so well equipped and so comfortable definitely the best cottage we have stayed in. The welcome parcel was a lovely surprise. Sky is a real bonus. Ideal location for visiting all areas of Northumbria. The barn at beal is a wonderful place for morning coffee with its stunning views over Holy Island.
December 2009
A lovely, comfortable house with plenty of space, The Coach House has been beautifully and thoughtfully designed to cater for 6 people - and welcomes dogs too. It feels like a home from home, with a fabulously equipped kitchen and cosy living room. The extra sitting room was really useful too. The two upstairs bedrooms were full of character, with plenty of storage, and beautifully decorated, and the downstairs bedroom had an ensuite bathroom, which we enjoyed. The owner left a lovely welcome pack, which we really appreciated. We loved the cottage and its well equipped garden. The Coach House is perfectly situated on the outskirts of a quiet village, just a few minutes from the coast and the National Park inland. I really hope to stay there again.
