I liked the look of the cottage and it was the same as it was on the internet. I like the idea of a outdoor swimming pool near the cottage, the surroundings and cottage were very clean and tidy.

Delightful spot, quiet and secluded. Wonderfully well furnished and decorated. It felt as though it was brand new and we were the first people to use it. Comfortable with everything we needed to hand. Very pleasant and helpful owners.

This was our first cottage holiday and it certainly set the standard. We had a warm welcome from the owner and there was lots of local information was supplied - like having a personal tourist information office. The cottage itself was superbly kitted out with everything we could possibly need and was clean, warm and comfortable. I really couldn't fault this holiday cottage, hope to return and would certainly recommend.

Everything you could possibly need under one roof, all of the little extras from the wonderful hosts made for a fantastic Christmas stay. If we didn't have a dog, we would stay again without a doubt.

March 2015
The property was very well placed for both the North Pennines and the Lake District. The weather was cold during our stay but the cottage was very well heated. The owner was welcoming and helpful and overall we really enjoyed our stay.
Mrs Edwards
May 2015
We had a warm welcome from the owners and lots of information to make our stay enjoyable. The cottage had everything we needed. Although the cottage is in the grounds of the owners property, they didn't intrude but if we needed anything, which we didn't, we only had to ring the bell. The area is quiet and the local people friendly. There is a watermill close by that mills all different types of organic flour. They make a large selection of bread and cakes and serve vegetarian meals in their tea room.

September 2014
The cottage itself is of course small but very cosy, and it had everything we needed! We were quite amazed by that. The bathroom was higher than the rest of the cottage and very light which gave a good sense of space. The owners themselves are just great, really friendly and helpful. They gave advice about beautiful locations, the right stores and everything we asked about. All in all we had a great holiday! Never got bored for a second in the two weeks we stayed there and we felt right at home thanks to the friendly owners, the lovely cottage and the beautiful surroundings. We can really recommend it!
Mr Wrigley

It exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottage is maintained to the highest possible standard, and we were very pleased with our choice. This was our first holiday experience in the Lake District / self catering, dog friendly accommodation. The owners gave us a warm welcome, excellent local information, and were on hand for any queries without being intrusive. There are loads of tourist information brochures available in the cottage.

Fantastic place, fantastic hospitality and genuine concern for our comfort! The owner was very helpful, kind and thoughtful. She ensured that we were comfortable and that we enjoyed our visit; she also helped us plan our visit to the lakes, showing us the detailed bus times and routes. We loved that it was so peaceful we could come go as we pleased without fear of disturbing anyone. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Lake District. There is a station for the Settle to Carlisle line about 3 miles away with Carlisle being around 30 minutes on the train. We highly recommend the food the staff at The Shepherds Inn in Langwathby.

January 2013
Everything was just perfect, not a single fault that I could find! A lovely little cottage in a great location, utter silence at night. You can light a fire and cuddle up on the sofa with one of the very diverse and respectable DVD collection. It is the perfect little place for that romantic get away. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she just could not have been any more helpful! 10/10 no doubt about it we hope to return in the spring!
April 2013
the owners lived near by nothing was any trouble you only had to ask
October 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at The Cobbles cottage. It was well appointed with all you need for a relaxing holiday. A car is essential for this location but not far to Penrith and the Lakes District. Very quiet location
May 2016
This was our first stay in a holiday cottage and has set the standard for all others! From the warm welcome, to the warm, cosy and well equipped accommodation, all exceeded our expectations. There was a real fire with fuel provided (as an addition to the radiators) and information leaflets, maps and current timetables etc for the local attractions and places to visit. I couldn't fault this place and hope to stay there again. Thoroughly recommended.
April 2013
This is beautiful conversion of a beautiful little cottage. It has everything that you could possibly be looking for in terms of cooking, comfort etc. The village is worth a walk around- it has an open air swimming pool. The only down side was that it is very small and we are very tall. The only place to stretch out was in bed...but apart from that it is really good value for money and it really is a beautiful cottage. Penrith is not far and its also a great town.
