The Granary description

This finely converted, semi-detached former barn is set in the grounds of a Georgian farmhouse, Hill Farm, in the quiet hamlet of Newton-on-the-Hill, a mid point between Shrewsbury, Wem and Ellesmere. The conversion has preserved, where possible, its original character and charm, yet combines well with modern conveniences to provide guests with a comfortable stay. There is a cosy wood burner for cooler nights, a lovely large patio and an enclosed garden for summertime barbecues.

It stands proud, with spectacular undisturbed views across the lush green fields, Shropshire plains, The Wrekin, Sleap Airfield and Grinshill with a backdrop of the Welsh hills in the distance.

Local attractions include Hawkstone Park, Ellesmere Meres, the pretty town centre of Attingham Park, medieval Shrewsbury with its great selection of bars, restaurants, shops and theatre. Bridgenorth, Ironbridge and museums, Condover Activity Centre and Ludlow are a short drive.

The central position of the property means that although situated in Shropshire, the neighbouring counties of Mid Wales, North Wales and Cheshire are very easily accessible, making places such as Chester, Llangollen, Chirk Castle, Powys Castle and Erddig very easy to reach.
