The hamlet of Sandside is situated on the estuary shoreline of the River Kent, within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 1.2 miles from the small market town of Milnthorpe. The hamlet has a pub and The Kingfisher Restaurant. Close by is Milnthorpe, which has narrow lanes and historic buildings, along with a selection of shops and pubs. Also within reach is the former fishing port of Arnside, and a number of attractions such as Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Dallam Tower, Levens Hall, Leighton Hall and Sizergh Castle.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

We had a lovely stay at the Kingfisher Apartment last week. A great apartment with a nice homely feel, amazing views from all rooms and in a perfect location for accessing the local villages and area, with a fantastic woodland great for walking in right behind the accommodation. We had gorgeous meals in the restaurant downstairs, one of the best meals I'd ever eaten! Very helpful and accommodating owners who were always available to help where needed, hope to return again another time.

Just returned from a fabulous week staying at The Kingfisher apartment. What a fantastic property, beautifully decorated, modern, very well equipped and with absolutely stunning views and sunsets. It is perfectly located for many lovely walks, some great pubs close by and delicious food in the restaurant below! Mike and Anne the owners are excellent hosts. We were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine all week, which certainly topped it off!
