This cottage was lovely. It was very comfortable cottage. It felt more like a home than a holiday let. It was quiet and peaceful. The host was helpful and unobtrusive. The kitchen had everything you needed.

The pictures on your web site did not do this cottage justice. We were blown away with the cottage the moment we saw it. The owner of the cottage was there to meet us and he was so friendly and helpful, the inside of the cottage was amazing; everything you wanted just like a home from home. The towels and bedding were better than we have had in first class hotels! It really was a lovely cottage and what we paid for it made it even better. The grounds were lovely for the dogs to run.

The peaceful setting and the warm welcome from the owners. A wonderful bonus was that the cottage had a wet room which my husband found very useful. We also loved the quality of the bedding and especially the towels.

Fabulous house very spacious, with every thing you could need. Fantastic garden and great that it's dog friendly. Very hospitable friendly helpful hosts. Beautiful scenery, walking distance to a shop, pub and Italian restaurant. We were extremely fortunate with wonderful weather.

The owner was an absolute star and genuine host. The personal touches and gestures he made were the icing on an already very well presented cake. Would stay here again in a flash.

Beautiful, extremely friendly location. Lovely accommodation, looks even better in real life with high quality furnishings and finish to the House. Really warm and comfy beds and a lovely large kitchen. Suitable for families or friends and lots of nice dog walks locally.

The property was spacious, warm and comfortable and convenient, being close to a good general shop was an advantage. The owner was most hospitable. We were able to visit places of interest in the area. We hope to go again next year.

We went as a family holiday with me my partner, 3 children and our 2 dogs. We received a really warm welcome even though we arrived late at night. We had full usage of the gardens which our dogs loved. It was a home away from home and we really did not want to leave. The walk next to the house led up along the fields was easy enough to manoeuvre with all the kids and the dogs loved it. We have come home and are already planning our next visit.

This is definitely a five star property, we had an amazing week and we will be rebooking soon. It was spacious, nicer than the pictures and in an amazing location with really friendly owners and village. Everything has been thought about and not too much trouble. The owners really want to do everything to make sure that you have a lovely holiday. It was homely and relaxing and the dog loved it too.

We arrived to a warm welcome from the Owner who showed us around the property. The cottage was spacious, warm and cosy. The double bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The property has a ground floor wet room which would be ideal for any disabled person wishing to holiday here. The views from the property to the open countryside behind were lovely. The village was quiet having two pubs, a lovely tea room and shop but the villagers we met were all very friendly. There are lovely walks in and around the property, we did tackle the striding arches but didn't complete them all. We saw our first ever red squirrel just up one of the quiet lanes from the property. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to return again one day.

The Old Coach House is a superb holiday property. Set in a great village location, and in an area of real beauty with lots to do for families. The cottage exceeded expectations in its size, and the quality of the accommodation. It has recently been refurbished, though it retains a cosy feel. It has everything you could need. I would not hesitate to recommend the Old Coach House to anybody looking for a relaxing getaway within easy reach of great days out.

The Old Coach House was a lovely cottage and decorated to a very high standard. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. The owner could not have been any more welcoming and helpful. Overall our stay at The Old Coach House was the loveliest weekend break yet.

The holiday was intended as a week in which to relax in a lovely setting and it certainly fulfilled that criteria. The Coach House has been renovated to a very high standard, and was most comfortable. Moniaive is a pretty little village and a great base for exploring the area either by foot or on longer excursions.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and very approachable, and provided us with a basket of food, including a lovely bottle of wine, when we arrived. The house is sympathetically and beautifully restored, with plenty of room for 6 adults. The beds were very comfortable and the showers were powerful. The pictures on the website don't really do the place justice, it is a lovely place and the surrounding area and the village of Moniaive are absolutely beautiful. Despite being right next door to the owner's house, there is a private patio with wooden seating and table, and even a separate driveway if you want to use it rather than the driveway for the main house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely property and will definitely be back.
June 2013
The Old Coach House has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. The owner was on hand to greet us upon our arrival, and just couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. Full of local knowledge, he sent us on some amazing outings to stunning locations, and even advised us of the best local pubs and eateries if I didn't feel like cooking. The house itself was furnished with extremely comfortable and practical furnishings, and there was even a luxurious welcome hamper waiting for us in the spacious, well-equiped kitchen! The early-April weather wasn't kind to us, but the house was so warm and cosy that the weather really didn't matter. It was great to sit in the vast kitchen and watch the lambs skipping about on the hillside through the over-sized patio doors. The wet room was ideal for my disabled mother too. Due to recency of the refurbishment and the lousy weather the gardens surrounding the property hadn't had the chance to recover and blossom, so we were left a vase full of local daffs to gaze on instead. As for Moniaive - it's a charming village with very welcoming, friendly locals. It's the sort of place where you are wished 'good morning/afternoon' by complete strangers who will happily pass the time of day with you. The local shop is well-stocked and fairly priced, and the local ice cream is to die for! A trip up the road to the Galloway Forest is a must, as is the drive to Port Patrick. All in all, everyone of us (including our dog!) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Coach House, and will happily return again soon.
