This stone built, detached cottage is situated in the centre of Burnsall village is close to the River Wharfe and the Dales Way. Finished to a high standard throughout, this cottage offers comfortable, well-equipped accommodation for up to four people and utilises a combination of modern furnishings and original features. The lovely courtyard garden provides an excellent spot for al fresco dining or sunbathing whilst there is an award winning pub serving real ales and fabulous food just a short walk away.

Situated in Wharfedale, the village of Burnsall is set on a bend in the River Wharfe and is framed by the dramatic backdrop of Burnsall Fell. The 12th Century church is considered to be the oldest construction in the village whilst the school is thought to be one of the oldest in Britain. The traditional Dales bridge with its five stone arches is another interesting feature of the settlement and is one of the town's most renowned landmarks. The surrounding countryside features a number of walks through the area, making it a wonderful place to stay whilst exploring the Dales. Local amenities include a small shop selling sweets and ice-cream as well as various essential goods, a pub with hotel, and a tea-room. Nearby Grassington and Skipton offer a wider range of amenities and Burnsall's river 'beach' is just a few minutes walk away.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

The Old Cobblers cottage had lots of traditional character yet with all the modern amenities you could need. It's location in the centre of the picturesque village of Burnsall meant that you could forget the car for the weekend as everything you would like to visit was within easy walking distance.

This was the second time we have stayed at The Old Cobblers, it is a perfect cottage in a brilliant location. Burnsall is an excellent base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales and The Old Cobblers is beautifully presented and has everything you could possibly want. We will return again and would never stay anywhere else in the Dales.

October 2011
The kitchen was well equipped and contained all those little bits and pieces you never expect to find in a holiday cottage. The whole cottage was beautifully furnished and represented excellent value for money. It was a genuinely relaxing place to spend a week, and rates as the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. We found ourselves referring to it as 'going home' at the end of each day out!
Mrs Tennant

You cannot fault the area around Burnsall and that counts for a great deal. The cottage was very cosy and welcoming and the owner was very accommodating. The peace and quiet of the rural setting was just what the doctor ordered!

September 2011
This was the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in. We were warm, cosy, comfortable and the location was absolutely perfect. The owner very kindly provided us with clean bedding and towels after the first week and we had everything we required. I have already recommended this cottage to friends.
October 2011
Of the many cottages we've stayed at this was the best-clean, comfortable and conveniently situated. It had all our needs, the shower was first-class, a nice deep bath and constant hot water, a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas. We all felt very happy and comfortable. Given that the weather wasn't good, we still found plenty to do, witnessed the nearby river in full flow-an amazing spectacle - discovered two ace teashops nearby, enjoyed crossing the suspension bridge and had good walks and car tours. It was also a plus to stroll round to the pub on the first night for a meal and a pint.
Mrs Westmoreland

The Old Cobblers was great. We absolutely loved it. The standard of the accommodation was excellent. The village of Burnsall is very pretty and is perfect for access to all parts of the Yorkshire Dales. I will certainly recommend the old cobblers to friends and family and if we ever go back to the Yorkshire Dales we would certainly stay at the Old Cobblers again.

September 2009
The location is excellent, with lots of places to visit close by and a good selection of restaurants and pubs to choose from. We enjoyed the multi fuel burner, particularly as the grandchildren had not experienced a coal fire before! The courtyard is very private, not overlooked from anywhere, was very nice to sit in on the odd occasion the weather permitted. The peaceful atmosphere was most invigorating.
Mr Brown

The cottage was more than we expected it to be, it had everything that we could have asked for. The owners were very accommodating and were proud to let the cottage to other people and rightly so! All the pubs in the surrounding area had extremely good beer and food and were always very friendly, despite us having two babies with us.

We had a great time as we know the area. The cottage was very comfortable. Everything possible was provided for both comfort as well as entertainment. The kitchen was a pleasure to work in. Storage room was excellent. The bathroom/ shower was excellent and everything was easy to manage. The bedrooms were capacious and comfortable and pleasantly warm. There were no additional charges for power etc. We would recommend this cottage to all of our friends. To top it all we enjoyed beautiful weather. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

January 2008
Burnsall is a lovely peaceful village with a well stocked local store and an excellent pub serving fantastic meals. The cottage is very nicely decorated and the welcome pack received was a very nice touch. We immediately felt at home and would definitely recommend to family/friends.
May 2014
This is a lovely cottage just a few steps away from the river Wharf and even fewer steps to the excellent Red Lion Pub. Just a couple words of warning: the bedrooms are upstairs and the beds are a little small (doubles not queens). Still it is a cozy cottage with a fairly well stocked kitchen for cooking and dining. Good for four people but more would be too crowded. Very nice and accommodating owners. Wonderful hiking. Indeed, we walked back from Bolton Abbey.
April 2012
Very well appointed, warm, extemely cosy in a super location for some scenic walks.A lovely part of the world will will return.
Richard Coombs
July 2012
Excellent service. The owner called to see if we required any help. The house was very well furnished and comfortable. Burnsall is a charming village with a very good inn - The Red Lion! However, we hit a rainy period which interfered with our walking plans.

December 2011
Felt at home from the start. The cottage itsself had everything with real traditional warmth and atmosphere. It is an easy stroll to the pub, the teashop (and they're both fantastic) and one of the Dales outstanding landmarks. There are superb walks either along the river or up into the hills. Just the perfect retreat.

December 2009
Comfortable furnished. All gadgets you could need. Log burning stove with generous starter pack. The underfloor heating was wonderful. Pub with good food about 100 yards away with shop even nearer. Butcher round corner. Plenty of excellent walking. Will definitely go again.
December 2009
We had a lovely holiday. The cottage was well equipped, cosy and comfortable and had plenty of room for a family of 4. There were some nice extra touches like DVDs, books, a huge box of Lego and some basic provisions in the cupboards which always makes life easier when you arrive. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of Burnsall within a stone's throw of the Red Lion pub, the tea room and village shop. Our only small gripe was the parking situation as it wasn't the easiest thing to load and unload two children from the car to the house and maybe that should be made clearer in the house details, but that is the only thing that wasn't lovely. We would definitely consider going back.
