The Stables at Daldorch description

Holiday home
The Stables at Daldorch is a wonderful, detached stone cottage, ideal for friends and families, situated amongst rural arable farmland near Mauchline, beside the owner's home. The cottage is set solely on the ground floor, with one double bedroom with an an-suite shower room, and a twin room. There is also a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a kitchen with a dining area and French doors opening into the garden, and a sitting room with a double sofa bed and a woodburning stove. The garden is lawned, with beautiful views, furniture and a barbecue, and there is also ample space for off road parking. With the River Ayr Way running by the cottage, and many walking and cycle routes across the Galloway Hills, The Stables at Daldorch is a great base for those wishing to get out and explore this stunning, rural region.

The village of Mauchline sits peacefully in the lovely hills and countryside in an ideal spot for exploring the beautiful scenery of Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran. Mauchline is probably most famous for being the home of Robert Burns, who farmed in the area for many years and the house he shared with his wife Jean Amour, is now a museum and part of the Burns Trail. There are several golf courses including The Royal Troon close to the village. Culzean Castle is a magnificent National Trust for Scotland property and has been the principal seat of the Kennedy Family since 1759. The country park is 600 acres and has so many attractions for visitors to enjoy.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Bio-mass central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Every comfort was catered for. The furnishings were first class, together with all the little extra touches so thoughtfully provided, which was totally unexpected and very much appreciated. Altogether a first class accommodation central for the coast and country. Would thoroughly recommend this holiday cottage in peaceful surroundings.

The Stables at Daldorch is hidden away in a low-lying farmland setting a few miles from the shire town of Ayr with its major transport links. On arrival we were impressed by the beautiful setting. We were made welcome by the very pleasant and helpful owners before being shown round the property. The Stables was very clean and tidy and had been finished to a high standard, with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. In summary, our expectations were exceeded. It was a pleasure to have stayed at The Stables and we'd have no hesitation in going back again.

This cottage holiday suited everyone from Nana to young child (just a quick run around to make homely touches child friendly) as well as our family dog. Very clean, well equipped, up-to-date living, great artwork and other homely touches. Loved the enclosed garden with seating area and enjoyed the countryside. Great location for us to visit the coastal town of Ayr, just 8 minutes away from Gemmel's Garden Centre with it's Big Tractor and soft play and we really enjoyed our visits to Dean's Castle Country Park too. A car is essential as the cottage is situated in a rural area a short drive from town with limited reception, however wi-fi kept us easily in touch. Helpful owner's near at hand, however not intrusive and we loved the fresh flowers, homemade bread and breakfast hamper. We all loved it and will return in the future. Very much a luxury cottage holiday for everyone.
