The Sycamores description

Holiday home
The Sycamores is a semi-detached stone cottage in the heart of Burnsall. The cottage has a double, a super king-size double (can be twin on request), an adult bunks along with a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is a shower room, a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with open fire. Outside is roadside parking to the front on a first come, first served basis, and a garden overlooking the village green. The Sycamores makes a great touring base for enjoying the Dales all year round.

Situated in Wharfedale, the village of Burnsall is set on a bend in the River Wharfe and is framed by the dramatic backdrop of Burnsall Fell. The 12th Century church is considered to be the oldest construction in the village whilst the school is thought to be one of the oldest in Britain. The traditional Dales bridge with its five stone arches is another interesting feature of the settlement and is one of the town's most renowned landmarks. The surrounding countryside features a number of walks through the area, making it a wonderful place to stay whilst exploring the Dales. Local amenities include a small shop selling sweets and ice-cream as well as various essential goods, a pub with hotel, and a tea-room. Nearby Grassington and Skipton offer a wider range of amenities and Burnsall's river 'beach' is just a few minutes walk away.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

An excellent cottage which was well furnished and very spacious. It felt very home-like as soon as we arrived. The front garden faces on to the river and village green and is a marvellous place to sit and drink tea in the morning.

The best cottage we have stayed at so far, very warm, comfortable and homely. We will definitely book again at some point.

The Sycamores was a great base for us to explore the Yorkshire Dales. The location was stunning. The cottage was really well equipped. The heating was great and we never felt cold. The open fire was lovely and we were well equipped with the fire wood left by the owners for us. We loved the cottage so much and we will certainly be recommending it to all our family and friends in Australia thinking of visiting the wonderful Yorkshire Dales.

A delightful cottage in excellent condition, in an excellent location beside the River Wharfe.

The location of The Sycamores is superb, in a very picturesque setting. Fantastic walking country with lots of varied relatively easy walks from Burnsall itself. The cottage was furnished with high quality soft furnishings and the standard of bedding was excellent. It was lovely to have a real coal fire for chilly evenings.

A great cottage which had absolutely everything you could need. Particularly liked the high chair and cot being available so didn't have to worry about bringing them with us.

The views from this cosy, comfortable cottage are lovely; a very peaceful picturesque setting. The Red Lion public house is very nice and just a few steps away! As are the shop and tearoom. There are plenty of walks and places to visit in the surrounding area.
